Our members, both two-legged and four-legged, were kept busy from dawn till dusk!
Showjumping Thrills: The field was alive with action as our riders tackled courses, improving their technique and confidence with every fence. The focus was on rhythm and accuracy, and everyone cheered each other on.
Conquering the Cross Country (XC) Course: Always a camp favorite, the XC phase saw riders flying over natural obstacles, and navigating banks and big tyres. The determination and teamwork displayed were truly inspiring!
River Riding & Field Hacks: One of the most magical parts of the day was the picturesque hack. We enjoyed a serene ride through the cooling river—a definite highlight for both ponies and riders!—and then rode joyously across a vast open field, truly embracing the freedom of riding in the beautiful Somerset countryside.
🎨 Creative Corner: Horseshoe Crafts
It wasn’t all about riding! Giving the ponies a well-deserved rest, the riders showed off their artistic side. We took wooden horseshoes and transformed them into beautiful pieces of art and keepsakes.
🏆 The Rosette Haul!
All that hard work, dedication, and practice certainly paid off! Our riders absolutely shone in the competitions and activities throughout day, proudly accumulating a truly impressive collection of rosettes. Every color of the rainbow was represented, a wonderful testament to their efforts and the progress they made with their brilliant ponies. Well done to every single participant!
🍕 The Grand Finale: Pizza Night!
What better way to celebrate a week of achievement, new friendships, and fantastic riding than with a well-deserved feast? Camp wrapped up with everyone gathering for a massive pizza tea, sharing stories, laughs, and promising to keep in touch until the next Pony Club event.
A huge thank you to all the instructors, volunteers, and parents who made this camp run so smoothly. But the biggest well done goes to all the fantastic West Somerset Pony Club members and their amazing ponies.
