Tet Championships August 2018

Wylye were well represented at the Tet Championships this year with an Open (Holly P, Katie D and Mia R) and Intermediate Team (Millie T-C, Lucy C, Phoebe F and Amy G). Fin S had also qualified as an individual junior but sadly had to pull out due to a fall at camp. The venue changed this year from Bishop Burton to Offchurch Bury by Leamington Spa, so much easier to get to! The Intermediate team started with a massive disadvantage as sadly both Amy and Phoebe’s horses went lame so they could only count their Tri scores. All put in good swims with Holly doing an amazing 9 lengths and 10m for joint first and respectable shoots with Phoebe having a great 940. It was a very tough championship course that caused lots of problems. Katie, Millie and Lucy pulled off lovely clears with Millie the only one getting inside the time which was very tight. While Holly and Mia did really well considering Holly was riding Beau (kindly lent by Alice Tollworthy) who she had only ridden a few times and Mia’s horse Rua had never seen such a technical course. Holly did fantastically to finish 4th Open Girl with Katie close behind in 7th, the Team were 3rd and in the intermediates Millie was 11th Individual and the Team 5th. Becca Duffy

Regional 100 Tet 2018
The Senior Regional Tet, or Regional 100 Tet as it is now known, was held near Melton Mowbray at Aylesford Lodge 28/29 July, the one weekend it rained! Unfortunately the date clashed with Area Show Jumping and Area Dressage so the only Wylye Member representing Southern England this year was Katie D. As usual it was a very challenging XC course made even harder by heavy rain onto rock hard ground resulting in very few clear rounds and even fewer inside the time. Katie and Bean had a great round marred by one unfortunate run out where Bean didn’t see the jump in time. They still finished inside the top 20 and were part of the Southern England team that came 3rd.  Becca Duffy
