April 2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Dear Members,
\nVery well done to all our members who went to Addington for the Spring Festival Finals<\/strong> \u2013 it was a very cold three days! However, we did manage to win the 110m show jumping \u2013 Ellie, Holly and Amelia \u2013 and come second in the 90cms show jumping \u2013 Emily, Hamish and Ellie. This means YAS have pulled off the double with winning both the Summer and Winter 110m show jumping finals \u2013 something that I don\u2019t think has been done for a very long time, if at all!!
\nCongratulations to our younger show jumpers who qualified, at the Derwent PC competition, for the 60cms \u2013 Ella, Emily, Phoebe \u2013 and the 70cms \u2013 Alice, Ella, Emily, Phoebe – Junior Series Finals<\/strong>. There will be more opportunities to qualify for this over the next few months, including our Branch competition coming up on 31 May<\/strong> at Escrick Park. We would be grateful for any support in the way of entries, setting up, on the day and clearing up, plus any cakes to sell!
\nJust a reminder that now winter is over, it is important that everyone pays more attention to Dress and Turnout of both rider and pony\/horse. Tack should be clean and your pony should be well groomed. For general rallies, riders should be in Branch polo shirts, sweatshirts or a shirt and tie\/stock, dark or light jodhpurs, gloves, hair plaited or in a hairnet in order to reduce the risk of hair being caught or scalp injuries, and no hoodies. Jewellery is not recommended and necklaces, bracelets and large or dangling jewellery must be removed. All hats should have a current pink tag, plus a yellow tag if spurs worn. No fixed peaks for 80cms cross country, pony racing and games. Body protectors are only compulsory for cross country, arena eventing and pony racing \u2013 BETA 2018 Level 3 standard (blue and black label).<\/p>\n

Branch Area Teams 2026<\/strong>: see details of Area competitions under Dates to Note (some of these have been amended so do check you have the correct date!)(SJ\/Eventing: 70\/80\/90\/100\/110m<\/strong>.) If you are interested in being considered for an Area Team, please let Gill know. You must be an active, current member to take part and are expected to have attended at least three rallies\/events since 28 July 2025 (this includes Camp 2025). Area competitions are qualifiers within each Pony Club area in the country for a place at either the National Championships in mid-August or the Regional Championships at the end of August 2026. This is nothing to do with various Branch competitions, including Junior Series show jumping (for those aged 12 years and under as at 1 January 2026). N.B. Area PC70 classes (not 70+) are for those members 13 years and under as at 1 Jan 2026.
\nDressage Tests for PC Area Dressage<\/strong> (12 July): PC70 Regional: Foundation PC70 Dressage Test 2026, PC80 Regional: Grassroots PC80 Dressage Test 2026, Novice: Novice PC90 Dressage Test 2026, Intermediate: Intermediate PC100 Dressage Test 2026, Open: Open PC110 Dressage Test 2026. Dressage Tests for PC Area Eventing<\/strong> (21 June): PC70 Regional: Foundation PC70 Dressage Test 2026, PC80 Regional: Grassroots PC80 Dressage Test 2026, PC90: PC90 Eventing Test 2026, PC100: PC100 Eventing Test 2026, PC Chairman\u2019s Cup: PC chairman\u2019s Cup Eventing Test 2026, PC110: PC110 Eventing Test 2026.
