Eventing

Eventing combines dressage, showjumping and cross-country – and members can dip in and out of ANY of these rallies to improve their riding. Rallies are open to all members, are held all year round, and cater for all ages and abilities. Rallies are usually taught by Cammy Furno, and we also invite other instructors to share their expertise.

We have a thriving mini and junior group of members taking part in training regularly, and these young riders feed into our senior team.  Competitions are held throughout the spring, summer and autumn – and follow from ‘poles on the ground’ up to 1m 10. Dressage tests may be called, and lead rein/assisted riders are allowed at many competions for all phases.

***  Please feel free to join the dressage rallies organised by Tracy Hayling for the dressage element of training, and also showjumping rallies organised by Lois Johnson ***

** New for 2017 **  Exclusive to Area 9 Pony Club Branches **

To support Pony Club members going on to British Eventing (BE), a special Pony Club/BE league has been created, exclusively for Area 9.   The scheme is being co-ordinated by Jane Ogle, from the Croome Hunt PC.

How it works : Every member going BE pays a one-off fee of £10 for the first horse and £5 for each additional horse,  for the whole season.  Members are responsible for emailing co-ordinator Jane Ogle with results within 7 days of the competition. Please look at the attachment to see how to gain points. Those BE Members placing at the Areas at Dauntsey will gain double points to encourage participation.

Points mean prizes!   The winner of each section will be awarded a coat and the runner up a headcollar, with an awards evening planned for winter 2017.  Best of all, free lessons at their yards have been pledged for the top three winners from:
