The Area Horse and Pony Care competition will be held this year on Sunday May 20th, at Deandane Pony Club Centre Wigan. Each team to have three members. Junior team member aged 13 years and under, Senior team member 14 years-21years. The questions will be on all aspects of practical pony care including grooming, tacking up & assessing for soundness. Good knowledge of feeding, shoeing, saddlery etc needed  ( All answers in The Pony Club Manual)

AREA 4   TRAINING COURSES 2012
 
Applications now being accepted for the following training courses
1.  The Area 4 cross-country training at Smallwood on Wednesday 6th June (members must be confident over 3′ cross-country course).

 Show Jumping

Show Jumping Training Sessions

currently  held at Whipple Tree Farm, Bolton.

 

Price – £10 per session.

These Show Jumping sessions are open to all Holcombe Hunt Pony Club Members of any age or ability.   Members  can attend  on ( spaces permitting.)  Each session will consist of groups and will last approximately one hour. Further dates to be arranged with Mark Fuller at his Yard at Lostock over Summer.

In winter the training will be moved to an  indoor venue

Rallies

 
Bookings to attend rallies should be made with Lesley  on the Wednesday evening before the rally.
 Due to health and safety, at mounted rallies the only persons allowed in the riding arenas are the instructors, committee members and leaders of children on lead rein.

Hat Rule Body Protector Rule Code of Conduct What to Wear

For all rallies tidy clothes should be worn, shirt, pony club tie and jacket or pony club sweat shirt.  Dark coloured jodhpurs may be worn. Jodhpur boots should preferably have a leather sole and a well defined square cut heel.  Hair must be tied back and fastened in a hairnet, ribbons and plaits are not acceptable. Gloves should be worn. Hats must be of the required standard and should now be tagged. Any hats not already tagged must be done so at the next rally or event.  The riders are encouraged to prepare their own pony and clean the tack.  No member will be allowed to ride in short sleeves
