20 Area 14 competitors excelled themselves at The Pony Club Triathlon
Championships on Sunday with the exceptionally high standard of
performances across all levels, we were thrilled with their results.
There were numerous personal bests and it was fabulous to see such
talented, motivated and well prepared athletes performing at their best.
Our first open team for some years finished 7th (out of 15 teams),
Junior Red 3rd, Junior Blue 7th (out of 24 teams, both teams scoring
over 9,000 pts, that’s mega!) and the mini team finishing just out to
the ribbons in 13th (out of 25 teams)
Individual placings were plenty too. The standard of shooting was
excellent with 9 Area 14 competitors shooting in the high 900s. Here’s
some of the highlighted scores, with more to celebrate on PC results!

Grantham Meres Leisure Centre was an excellent venue with 18 shooting
points, 8 lane swimming pool and an athletics track. A strong chilly
breeze gave the runners a challenge but they battled through. Thank you
to Richard and Jane Mosley with a team of Area 14 parents for organising
the running phase. Thank you to Louly and Jane Mason for lane walking
in the swimming and all the Area 14 competitors and supporters for
terrific team spirit to make it such a fun and successful day.
Thankfully everyone was unscathed from the impromptu rugby afterwards,
which seemed to be Area 14 versus the Rest of the World. Well done
everyone, so much hard work, dedicated training and talent went into
those triathlon performances, it was great to be there. Huge thanks to
the Tetrathlon Committee for organising such a great event, so
efficiently and happily.
