PCUK B Test Assessor Soft Skills CPD Workshops June 2020

We are running three PCUK B Test Assessor Soft Skills CPD Workshops online via Zoom.   These workshops are FREE of charge.

This one off workshop counts as CPD in addition to the biennial mandatory B Test Assessor CPD workshop.   All PCUK B Test Assessors and Probationary Assessors should attend this workshop as part of their CPD.

It is now compulsory that candidates are given written feedback report sheets from C+ Test onwards.  We will go over this paperwork during the workshop.  B Test Assessors need to be fully up to date with this.

During the workshop we will cover:

– Communication skills

– Interpersonal skills to run a successful test day

– Questioning techniques

– Giving balanced and useful feedback

– Breaking bad news

– Dealing with difficult situations

– Using the B and C+ Test Feedback Sheets appropriately

– The new Assessor Development Skills Documentation

In order to ensure participants get the most out of this workshop we will keep group numbers small and offer the workshop over a couple of dates.

This workshop will become mandatory in the future thus we would advise doing it now as it will complete all necessary B Test Assessor CPD requirements in conjunction with the mandatory B Test Assessor CPD update due in April 2021 for all Area 1 and 19 Assessors and Probationers.

Soft Skills CPD Workshop Dates are:

Monday 8th June 2020 6pm – 8.30pm – Application closing date 6th June

Saturday 13th June 2020 6pm – 8.30pm – Application closing date 11th June

Tuesday 23rd June 2020 6pm – 8.30pm – Application closing date 21st June

Darrell Scaife FBHS (PCUK Training Chairman) will be joining us for the training session on the 8th June.

Tutors: Will Harrison, Jane Gilchrist and Liz Bell

Cost: FREE

Platform: The CPD training will take place using Zoom Software

This is a virtual workshop, focussing on developing the communication and interpersonal skills of assessors to deliver a successful test day. We will cover questioning techniques, giving feedback and delivering bad news. Who is this day for? Current listed PCUK ‘B’ Test Assessors and Probationary ‘B’ Test Assessors. Assessors from all PC Areas are welcome to attend.

What are the aims of the day?
To give ‘B’ Test Assessors an opportunity to get together and discuss questioning & feedback techniques. To support assessors in developing their current practice and skill set. We will also cover the compulsory paper work required for feedback at PCUK C+ and B Test Standard. Introduce the new Assessor Development Records.

Is this recognised B Test Assessor CPD?
Yes, but in addition to the mandatory biennial PCUK B Test Assessor Workshop.

What do participants need for the workshop?
Assessors will be sent a carbon copy of the Learner Notes Document and PCUK Assessor Development Document.

How do I book?
Booking will be done via Club Entries (link below) and on a first come basis.  We are offering three dates thus hopefully we can accommodate everyone.  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Please note the closing dates for applications to each workshop
