Nick Powell BEM

Nick is an active member of the Area 5 tetrathlon Committee. He is a range officer and can always be found in the shoot at Area 5 competitions and training days.

He was sworn in as a lay Magistrate in 1997. His home court is Welshpool but he attend a number of courts in Powys and North Wales

He was appointed Chairman of the Montgomeryshire Bench from 2016-2019 and represented the Magistracy of Wales for meetings with the Lord Chief of Justice at the Royal Court of Justice in London. He retired but was asked to rejoin.

His BEM is for services to the Judiciary

The British Empire medal recognises individuals for outstanding contributions to their communities and to the nation

Nick will be entitled to use BEM after his name and enjoy certain privileges such as using St Pauls cathedral for funerals, baptisms and weddings.

Nick will be presented with his medal by the Lord Lieutenant of Powys. His name will be engraved on the rim of the medal.

We will ask Nick to bring along his medal to the October triathlon to show to the competitors.
