Regional Eventing Championships 2025 – Gloucestershire:
Unfortunately, it wasn’t Ashford Valley’s day for the 80 team. A few technical errors, and the team was sadly unplaced, but the scores really don’t represent how well all 4 rode and performed. Despite the 8am dressage, both Jess and Beatrice recorded brilliant tests, with Millie and Jacob both riding much improved tests. The first team to SJ, and all 4 rode beautiful rounds, making the quite spooky looking course look very straightforward.
This was followed by determined XC riding, lots of experience gained, great team spirit, and camaraderie to make the branch proud.
Mia our sole 70 individual had an amazing day. A beautiful double clear, to finish on her dressage score, and a very well deserved 12th place. Well done to all.
JCB Eventing Championships 2025:
Report by our Eventing Manager Sharon Polding from her time with our members at the JCB Eventing Championships:
Ashford Valley headed to the JCB Championships with a relatively Green 90cm Team of 4 with Flo, Poppy, Red and Laura and our individual Sophie in the 100cm Class. The week was very hot and dusty, but everyone performed brilliantly and the team spirt was wonderful everyone helping and supporting each other.
Good Dressage and Show Jumping performances from everyone showing great improvements. The Cross Country was a challenging hilly course. Everyone without exception had a great run round, all the ponies / horses learnt a lot with points to take away and improve on for next year. The 90 team were not placed this time, but Sophie came a creditable 11th in her section with a great clear XC adding just a few time penalties.
It was an amazing experience and thoroughly enjoyable… With so much to look forward to .. Hears to 2026!!
Area Horse Trials held at Brightling Park July 2025:
So a fantastic day for AVPC at the Area Horse Trials held at Brightling Park today.. it may have been a bit / very wet, sometimes windy and sometimes sunny but the courses were a good challenge beautifully built, traditionally Brightling hilly and the ground in all 3 phases was as good as you will find anywhere this time of year. We had 5 members competing our 90 team of Red, Flo, Laura and Poppy along with Sophie in the 100.. Double Clears for Laura and Poppy in the 90 all the team performing brilliantly on XC for the Team to be placed 2nd overall and the 1st Branch team so Q for the JCB Champ with Laura placing 3rd individually The stand out performance of the day goes to Sophie and Cody in the 100 taking the win on her DR score of 26 and nearly 10 marks clear of 2nd place.: Amazing results and wonderful team camaraderie..
