Ashford Valley Pony Club Christmas Show at Duckhurst Farm:

Sunday 14th December
Today we had our AVPC Christmas Show at Duckhurst Farm kindly sponsored by Kent and Sussex Chiropractic.
We had incredible number of our members out supporting it with nearly half of the entries being AVPC. Everyone really went to town with the fancy dress and looked amazing!!
We decided to add some novelty classes this year and they were a huge hit. A horse and hound, a pairs class, a mini major (a personal favourite for me as I’ve always wanted my kids to ride together!) and Springy Santa which was a round followed by a few jumps on foot!!
We had some brilliant results as well as fab photos!!

RESULTS: Southdown West PC Showjumping Show at Hickstead August 2025

Report by Hannah MacLean our Show-Jumping Manager:

I couldn’t be prouder of every single AVPC rider today!!!! But it’s not just the fabulous results, it’s the personal achievements I was delighted with, for example we have a new member called Jasmine who competed for us today; Thomas, who’s been struggling with his confidence getting two clears; Zoe getting to grips with her new pony; Tilly, who has been doing such a great job rehabbing her beloved Betty and bringing the family jumping pony out of retirement and doing brilliantly; Harriet trying a new height with her young horse and smashing it; Olivia laughing off her pony’s bucks in his rounds; Amalie making me giggle with her detailed description of her pony’s warm up antics and Wilf steering perfectly today!

I am proud that AVPC yet again show that we’re a small but mighty Pony Club!! And as a club we are now the proud owners of a lot of winner’s rugs!!!

In the 40cm class we had Tilly on her new much bigger pony Arnie coming a brilliant 5th individually. The 40cm team consisting of Jasmine, Tilly, Thomas and Bella came a fantastic 3rd!!!

🏆🏆🏆 In the 50 we had a Team WIN with all four members of Olivia, Thomas, Wilf and Zoe getting fantastic clears.

🏆🏆🏆 In the 70 we had some amazing results with a Team WIN for the Diamond Team consisting of Amalie, Jess and Lottie. But as well as that we had great individual results of Lottie 2nd, Amalie joint 3rd, and Mia 6th.

HICKSTEAD July 2025:

We couldn’t be prouder of our AVPC showjumpers

In the 70cm we had the Ashford Valley Valiant Team consisting of Amelia and new members Amalie and Sophia. All were amazing- Amelia came a brilliant 4th individually in a huge class, Amalie who has two fabulous ponies rolled poles in the first round but had two fabulous clears in the 2nd rounds. Sophia has a new pony and is new to this height rode two great rounds. Jess rode her young horse Parsnip in the 70+ at his first big show and he coped with it all really well and did exceptionally well to come 3rd individually.

In the 80, we had Millie and Jess in the Mixed Nuts team. Millie’s young horse rolled some poles but there were lots of positives and plenty for her to work on. Jess and Mouse had a great first round, but he wasn’t keen on the big wall in the second round.

In 90cm we had Red competing on her brilliant young horse Ginny, they were the first ones in the class and got one time fault in the 1st round, she certainly didn’t let that happen in the 2nd and had the quickest round!

Another speedy combination was Laura riding Sharon’s homebred Rosie in the 1m. They had a lovely clear in the 1st round and they too were the fastest in the 2nd round but knocked a pole to come a brilliant 4th individually.

So a huge congratulations to Amelia, Jess, Red and Laura for your qualifications for Champs. Good luck!!!

Our next Showjumping show will be SDWHPC show at Hickstead on the 2nd August. It has classes from X poles upwards and is super fun and I’d love a big AVPC turnout!!! Please contact Hannah our Show Jumping Manager or message on the Show Jumping WhatApp Group to organise team spaces.

Crawley and Horsham Pony Club Show February 2024:

Congratulations to new member Amalie and her wonderful pony Mai who was flying the flag for AVPC at Fellbridge today at the Crawley and Horsham PC Show. She got a brilliant 5th in the 60 & 11th in the 70cm in two huge classes. Well done!!! 👏👏👏

Please keep sharing your achievements, we love to celebrate them 😊

East Sussex Showjumping Show Report February 2025:

Lots of our members went over to Golden Cross to compete in East Sussex’s Winter Showjumping Competition on 1st Feb. It was our first outing for our SJ team in 2025. I was delighted that we had a team in all of the classes from 40-90cm.

40cm:

Lily M came a fantastic individual 3rd, Immy had a fantastic clear and Izzy completed the team.

60cm:

Zoe came a fabulous 7th, Olivia and Immy had a lovely clears and Lily an unlucky 4 faults. The team came 4th.

70cm:

I was super proud of both Zoe and Olivia stepping up to jump a new height both on young ponies. Jess got a lovely clear to come 8th.

80cm:

Poppy on a new pony Holly came a fantastic 5th, and Lilly was the quickest 4 faults with an unlucky pole and Lottie got a special rosette awarded for good horsemanship after her pony had a tricky round. And together they got Team 3rd.

90cm:

Lottie got a lovely clear and came 4th, Lilly and was the quickest 4 faults again and Poppy rode beautifully but had a challenging round.

Well done to everyone who competed. Hoping I can join you for the next one.
