Who can join?

Pony Club Branch Membership is open to anyone up to the age of 25. Members should have access to a horse or pony, by ownership or loan, and have the means to transport the horse or pony to and from rallies and events.

How to join?

Currently we are not allowing this via the portal as we are focused on the renewal process. New members should continue to download the form either from : or from our website, and follow the instructions below in italics.

All Pony Club memberships and renewals should now be made directly with The Pony Club Office at Stoneleigh.
INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIPS (those with less than 3 riding members in the same household).
• If you do not have a “family membership” (usually 3 or more riding members in the same household) then you will receive 2 emails with details of how to renew via the new online portal.
o The first contains the renewal reminder and membership details.
o The second contains a custom link to the portal. When you click this link you will be asked to enter a password.
o This is a new online portal so create a new password.
o You will then be asked to login with your username (the email address to which the renewal reminder was sent) and your newly created password.
• Early renewal notices are being sent this year to try and phase out the renewal process for memberships expiring 31/1/2021.
• A reminder to those who have not renewed will be resent the first week of January. Thereafter, reminders will be sent one month prior to renewal date, and then 2 weeks before if not renewed.
• Using the online portal, you will be able to check and update any contact details, and members and pay online.
• You will not be able to change the branch or membership type (Riding or Non-riding) – if you need to do this please contact your branch to initiate the transfer process or contact to change your membership type.
• Memberships will be for a 12-month period from the date of expiry
o If you renew in December and your membership expires on 31 January 2021 then your new membership will run until 31 January 2022.

Please fill in the Branch Membership Application Form and send it with a cheque made payable to CHPC  to the Membership Secretary (see contacts page) or pay via our online booking page (we still need the form completed and sending).  Please fill in all the sections, it is really helpful if you could fill in the gift aid section as we are able to reclaim £10 for each member included within a gift aid declaration.

Once the Membership Secretary has received your child’s application you will be able to attend any of the events that are suitable for their age and ability.  Your details will also be added to the email circulation list, unless you ask to opt out of emails.  This website is the central point of all information regarding events and activities and it is a good idea to check regularly to see if any new events are planned.  If you would like to attend an event you should download the entry form and send it to the event organiser with the appropriate payment.  Unfortunately we are unable to accept on line payments at the moment, so you will need a cheque book.  The entry form will give directions and an indication of any special requirements such as dress codes and timings.  If you are unable to attend something you have entered for, please let the organiser know as soon as possible, there may be a waiting list in which case we can refund your entry fee if the place is filled or if it is very last minute, the rest of the children will not have to wait to start.

Please be prepared to help at rallies and events, the Pony Club relies on volunteers and many hands make light work!  Please ask other parents or an instructor if you are not sure about anything once you arrive, we were all new once and appreciate that it can be daunting initially.

What are the benefits?

The annual subscription includes Personal Liability Insurance (Third Party).

Learning & Tests

Members are encouraged to take an interest in their work and improve their knowledge by working towards their Pony Club Standards of Efficiency Tests, of which there are eight beginning with the ‘E’ Test and culminating with the prestigious ‘A’ Test. There is also the opportunity to work towards Road Safety, Achievement Badges, Progressive Tests and the Coaching Certificate. Pony Club Tests provide excellent grounding for those wanting to take up a career in equestrianism.

Inter Branch events are held to encourage team work and promote pride in the Branch. There is also the opportunity to qualify for National Pony Club competitions such as the Winter League, Quiz Final and The Pony Club Championships in August.

Each Branch organises a full programme of working rallies and other fixtures which may take place during school holidays. These include competitions, an annual camp, visits and social events.

The overriding aim is to make membership informative and fun!
