Team Selection Policy:

Throughout the year Pony Club hold team competitions in various disciplines. In order to be considered to represent our branch in these competitions the following criteria should be met.

1. You must be an active member of our branch and have taken part in several training sessions. These can be rallies, camps or training for and taking Pony Club tests.
2. You must attend team training for the specific discipline that you are hoping to compete in on a regular basis. This is to ensure that you are capable and safe to ride at the level at which you want to compete and allows selectors to make informed decisions regarding team selection.
3. Members who are available on both qualifying and championship dates will be considered first for team rather than individual places.

The District Commissioner is able to make exceptions to the above criteria in exceptional circumstances. An example of this could be illness or injury of horse or rider or a member who cannot attend mid week training as they are at boarding school during the week. These exceptions will be considered on an individual basis. However, the District Commissioner will always need to be satisfied that you are safe and competent at the level in question.
