Championship News

Jaz had a very successful trip to Cholmondeley in Cheshire for the Pony Club National Championships she was placed 5th in the Open Dressage Finals and was awarded a very prestigious Horsemanship Award in the Show Jumping.  Well worth the long trip to Cheshire.

Another successful outing for 2018, this time to the Area 14 Dressage and Show Jumping Qualifiers in Dorset. Our Open Dressage Team were placed 3rd with Jaz placed individually 4th and qualifying for the championships, Connie was 7th and Lucy 9th and also qualified. After a very wet and windy night at The South Dorset Show Ground we were relieved to be jumping on a surface Jaz and Lucy jumped fabulous clears in the first round, Lucy then had a couple of unfortunate poles in the second round but Jaz went on to jump another two clear rounds to be placed 3rd individually and so has qualified for the Championships in all three disciplines. The team of Emily, Connie, Jaz and Lucy were also awarded the Horsemanship Award for outstanding team spirit. Thank you as always to all our parents and supporters.

Brilliant results from yesterday’s Area 14 National Championships Eventing PC100 Qualifiers 2018 held at West Wilts Equestrian Centre Jaz was 4th in her section with best dressage and has Qualified for the National Championships. Lucy was 9th in her section with a double clear only her third event at this level.

Fantastic results from the Pony Club Championships held at Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire. On Monday our Open Show Jumping Team consisting of Louise, Ellie, Megan and Emily won the Tack and Turn Out Competition despite having to wade through a foot of mud to get the arena, Tip from the Floyd’s put your stirrup treads through the dishwasher! The Open Eventing was held on Tuesday, the team consisting of Louise, Ellie and Emily were under a huge amount of pressure to finish as a team of only three we had no discount score. All three held their nerves to produce very polished performances to come 3rd as a team with Louise coming 2nd individually and Emily placed 5th individually. Out of eighteen teams only seven finished and Emily was one of only five clear x-country rounds in side the time. A huge thanks to all the parents and supporters especially Mary who had her first experience under canvas, Mark the BBQ king and Gina and Steve who drove all the way up on Tuesday. Not forgetting Sarah who cut short her Scottish holiday to help the girls warm up.

Dulcie and Savvy had a brilliant result at their first one day event at Rabson Manor last weekend,  the pair won and completed on an excellent dressage score of 25.

Dulcie 9.8.15 4

More fantastic results from last weekend, this time it was the area eventing hosted by the Avonvale Pony Club at West Wilts Equestrian Centre.  The Open Competition ran over two days with the dressage and the show jumping on Saturday, Louise was our trailblazer and produced a beautiful dressage test with a score of 28.4, Ellie and Emily followed and both produced very solid tests to put us in a good position for the rest of the competition.  The show jumping followed both Louise and Emily jumped clear with Ellie having just an unfortunate pole down, this put the team in 3rd place overnight.  After a very early start on x-country day all three stormed around the course to maintain their 3rd position as a team and once again qualify for the Championships in August.  Louise was also placed 2nd individually.  On Sunday afternoon it was the turn our junior Jaz she and Shamus produced a lovely dressage test of 33.3 followed by a clear in the show jumping and x-country to be placed 6th.

A huge thank you to all who helped set up on Friday and Saturday and to all who helped steward, write, run the hospitality tent and last but not least our amazing arena helpers who were on their feet from 9.30 am – 5.30 pm and then helped clear away the jumps.  THANK YOU

Bertie's Bum

On Saturday Emily Pope and Lottie were placed 9th in the Open Individual Show Jumping out of 80 starters after two rounds of jumping it was down to the eleven double clears to jump off Emily was last to jump and posted the fastest time but unfortunately rolled the last pole.

Emily and Lottie 3

On Sunday it was the turn of our Intermediate Eventer Louise and Lily after a fantastic 23 dressage score and only one fence down in the show jumping, a fast clear round cross-country was good enough to place them 4th.

On Monday it was the turn of our Open Eventer Ellie riding Bertie, having completed a beautiful dressage test the mud unfortunately got the better of them and the show jumping and x-country caused a couple of problems, but so promising for the future.

As they were already in Cheshire Emily and Lottie also took part in the new Elite Show Jumping Class which was open to all jumping 1.20m plus with a lovely clear in the first round and again the fastest time in the jump off, another frustrating pole dropped them to 3rd place.
