Rallies

We provide monthly working rallies consisting of an hour’s group instruction in groups of 5. The rallies are suitable for all members from lead reins, first ridden and various jumping heights to those jumping 90cm+. We use a range of top quality instructors and members benefit from excellent training at a subsidised rate.

Rallies from April to October start with the lead rein and first ridden groups and progress to the more advanced groups later on. Rallies from November to March run the opposite way, starting with the 90cm+ group.

All upcoming dates and details for each rally are published on Entrymaster and can be found on the Calendar page. Entries typically close a week before the rally and group times are sent by text two days before the rally. Contact Heather for further enquiries.

Working Rally Notes

Dress, Tack & Turnout: please see the Useful Information page of the website in relation to dress for all PC rallies. There will be a tack check at each rally.

Clothing: All branch clothing, including hat tags, are available to try and buy at each working rally. Please note that PC ties, badges and manuals are available for purchase too. Payment for clothing is cash, cheque or via online banking (BACS). For the current list of available items and prices, please see the Useful information page

Attendance: each member MUST be accompanied by a responsible adult. For rallies taking place within an arena, parents are required to remain out of the arena while the lesson is taking place.

Group abilities & considerations: we always endeavour to ensure the groups are with similar abilities. However, there will always be groups where we have children and ponies/horses with mixed levels of abilities. This supports the pony club’s objectives of “working together”, and sometimes there are not enough entries to make same ability grouping possible. The instructors at working rallies always endeavour to help individuals at their own level, so will liaise closely with your children to ensure they get the most out of each rally. Please detail as much information as possible surrounding how much your child has done both on the flat and jumping so that we can group rides as effectively as possible. Key indicators include but are not limited to: Does your child jump fillers? Have they completed a dressage test before?
