We run three camps for our members in the Summer. All three camps are brilliant fun and all are welcome.
Mini camp 2024 will be at Higher Farm and will run from Saturday 17th August to Sunday 18th August. It will consist of 2 days starting at 9am until 5pm on both days.
*Please note that members are to be left (dropped off with pony) and a trailer or horse box will also need to be left as we are not parking on the field this year so parents will need a lift home!
On both days, there will be instruction in small groups, jumping, games, Polocrosse, badges, treasure hunt and much more. Children will be expected to be left with us for the duration of the day – there are plenty of older members to help. Ponies will be ridden twice on both days and a trailer/ lorry will be required to be left for ponies over lunchtime and while doing on foot activities. A packed lunch will be needed on both days but snacks and drinks are provided throughout the day.
Junior camp 2024 will be at Somerford Park in the camp blocks on the 80 acres and will run for 4 days from Thursday 8th to Sunday 11th August. Junior camp is non-residential for the children but residential for the ponies. Children will need to be dropped off every day by approx 8.30am and collected by approx 5pm (confirmed times will be detailed in letters). The days will consist of mounted and un-mounted instruction in small groups in SJ, XC, dressage, polocrosse, efficiency tests and achievement badges. There will also be a trip around the farm ride and a friendly competitions day including games, handy pony, show jumping etc. Lunch and snacks throughout the day are provided for all children.
Senior camp 2024 is as Junior to be run at the same time, but is residential for both children and ponies, and will start from Wednesday evening, Wednesday 7th August from approx 6pm (time to be confirmed). Will include all the above as Junior camp with the addition of evening entertainment and all food (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner and all snacks). Children will sleep in groups of no more than 4, in either their own lorries or tents.
