Dress Code at rallies
- Hat – Correctly fitting hats to standard:
PAS015:1998 or 2011 with BSI Kitemark or
VG1 with BSI Kitemark or
SNELL E2001- onwards with the official Snell label and number or
ASTM F1163 2004a – onwards with SEI mark or
AS/NZS 3838 2006 – onwards
Hats must be worn with the chin strap correctly fastened at all times. Hats without peaks must be worn for Cross Country. - Body Protector Rule for 2018
At Edinburgh Pony Club we make the use of body protectors compulsory when show jumping and for all cross country riding and pony racing whether it be training or competing. Body protectors used must meet the BETA 2009 Level 3 standard (purple tag). - Air Jackets
If a rider chooses to wear an air jacket in cross country riding or pony racing, it must only be used in addition to a normal body protector which meets the BETA 2009 Level 3 standard (purple tag) - Gloves – black, brown or beige, white for dressage
- Pony Club badge with efficiency level felt beneath it
- EPC Sweatshirt – royal blue sweatshirt or
- White long sleeve shirt with
- Pony Club tie
- White or Beige jodhpurs
- Jodhpur boots or long boots (No muckers/ Wellington / Country boots allowed)
- EPC Long sleeved T-Shirt – blue or yellow
- EPC Jacket – royal blue winter or summer soft shell jackets
- Long hair tied back neatly and secured with hair net
- No jewellery for safety reasons. The rule book states: “No jewellery is allowed for safety reasons, other than a wristwatch, a wedding ring, a stock pin worn horizontally or a tie clip. It is recommended that stock pins are removed for cross country. Members who are contemplating piercing their ears or any other part of their body should be aware that they will not be allowed to participate in any Pony Club mounted equestrian activity until such time as the “sleepers” can be safely removed. The reason for this is that sleepers have in the past caused injuries following falls.”
- Tack should always be in good condition. Plain leather with little or no adornments for jumping and totally plain for dressage.
- EPC Saddlecloths or numnahs should be discreet in colour no bling.
- Pony boots should black/white/brown
At Competitions also include in addition to above
- Riding Jacket (black/navy Jumping or tweed Dressage)
- Pony Club tie or stock
- White V-necked Pony Club sweatshirt (Games Competitions)
Reference Material
There are some books and videos that which may be borrowed by members. They may be particularly useful for members working towards tests. All reference material is available from current DC.
BOOKING POLICY
- Rallies will be advertised one month ahead and available to receive bookings from that point
- Team Jumping will be advertised at least two weeks prior to event
- A maximum of six riders per instructor to offer best tuition at rallies
- There is no refund for ‘no shows’ or last minute cancellations at any event.
- Bookings will be taken up to one week prior to rally or team jumping event, there after no further bookings can be made
- To book a place at a rally or team event you must book here
- Members parents or responsible adult attending rallies are expected to help out
- When a rally or camp is oversubscribed, members will be placed on a waiting list, when we reach an adequate number on the waiting list a further instructor may be booked.
- When a team event is oversubscribed, members will be entered as an individual but may be asked to ride within a team should a place become available.
- Members on the waiting list for rallies or camp will get allocated cancelled places in waiting list order
Please note our cancellation policy on rallies:
- Up to 10 days prior to rally members who cancel can either ask for a refund (minus Paypal/Club Entries fees) or roll forward the booking to the next rally.
- Within 10 days of rally no refund, however if there is a waiting list and the place can be filled by another member we will put you in touch with that member to arrange transfer of booking.
- If adverse weather occurs, which prevents travel, we will organise dismounted, lunch and a social activity to replace the mounted rally within the same price. Those who do not wish to attend the replacement dismounted rally may either roll forward their booking to the next rally or request a refund (minus Paypal fees).
- If for any reason the Committee needs to cancel any event a full refund (minus Paypal fees) or roll forward the booking to a future rally will be offered.
