Tetrathlon is a great all-round Pony Club discipline which requires accuracy, stamina and horsemanship. You can compete as part of a team or an individual starting from as young as 5 or 6 years old (the only minimum requirement is to be able to swim 25m safely) and parents can even take part in some competitions!
There are 4 phases to the sport; shooting (under 8’s throw bean bags), swimming, riding and running. The scores of a competitor in each of the four phases are added together to give an overall score. This means that each phase has an equal influence on the final result, although the riding scores are weighted to make this the most important element – this is the Pony club after all! Most competitions have a triathlon option, which is very popular with those not wanting to do the Ride phase.
Above all, we aim to have fun doing Tet! The children really do enjoy taking part and making new friends! Please contact Katy Reid on 07962 565656 if you would like any more information or to be added to the Tet WhatsApp group.
To be added to the WhatsApp group, or for any questions please contact Jules at julietlaing@gmail.com for 70cm+ and Rosie

Mounted games is an excellent way to have fun, desensitize your pony to interesting equipment, gain confidence and riding skills. It is not all about high speeds. Steady accuracy has often won the race. Mounted games is for every pony with a little bit of training.
Please let me know if you are interested in joining a mounted games team, or would like to know more about training. All branch members are welcome to train at mounted games rallies on ponies 148cm or smaller. Any age and standard welcome at games rallies, from lead rein to expert.
Please book onto the next rally or contact me if you need more information. Juliet Hooper 07763147239
