Area Show Jumping report

The 90cms riders had an early start at their qualifier on Saturday with a full up to height course and a class with over a 125 competitors.

Flamstead’s results were a mixed bag over the two 90cms rounds. We had Maisie and the wonderful Roger, Erin and young talented Mater and Amelie and Wu in a Team for Flamstead. We also had Erin on her second ride in this class on Ze and Jess Rainbow on the gorgeous Fred.

Erin and Mater scored highest for Flamstead placing in the top 50 and the team (which was down to three in the second round) was placed at 11th.

The 1m team consisted of Olivia and Moose, Erin and Sophie, Maya and Rio and Is Goodman and Blue. We submitted to 2 glorious clears and 4 Faults in both rounds and this was exactly what we needed to ace the scoreboards, winning the class and bringing home the trophy 🏆 ! Individual placings included 4th place for Is Goodman and Blue who just got better and better as the jumps got bigger and the course longer! We also had Erin and Superstar Sophie at individual 7th and Olivia Fisher and Magnificent Moose at 8th.

110
This class was HUGE, quite literally, with a first round of full up to height fences which Isobel Morton and her talented chestnut, Kassius rode clear in glorious style, making it look easy. (only 3 riders went clear).
Olivia and Moose rode next with Moose giving it his all on his third round of the day and ending it with 8 faults.

Then there was the nail biting 2nd round. The afternoon heat was intense and the course builder added to the mounting excitement by adding a huge triple.

Isobel and her Kassius rode a disciplined and fluid round, taking excellent lines but just clipping two poles leaving her with 8 faults. Olivia and a tired Moose (who was on his fourth round) pulled it out the bag, concentrating fiercely and ending up with only 4 faults.

These girls’ riding was inspirational and allowed Isobel Morton to take 2nd place individually and Olivia 5th place in the mighty 110 class.

We are delighted that both girls are through to the Showjumping Championships later this year with a Team Qualification.
