Beds South SJ Show
Show report
The winter indoor SJ season started in great style at Bury Farm last weekend. We had a huge Flamstead turnout, a huge thank you to all of our members who attended (and their parents!). These shows are so much more fun when there is a big club attendance and a great team spirit.
The courses were technical and up to height and certainly helped to clear some summer cobwebs and remind the children of how quickly the fences come up indoors, compared to outdoors.
The day started well in the 50cm with Flamstead’s boys showing the girls how to do it. Euan taking the win with Hugo in hot pursuit in 2nd, both 10 seconds clear of the rest of the class. The boys were joined by Jess and Cecily to make up a team that finished a super 2nd. Belle Paul also put in a super clear to finish individual 9th.
In the 60cm there were lovely quick clears and top 10 finishes for Araiya, Cecily and Lucy, with just some unlucky poles and sat-nav errors keeping the teams out of the placings.
At 70cm the course was up to height and spooky and caused quite a lot of issues but this is a height where Flamstead has a lot of strength and depth and the Flamstead riders rose to the challenge. There were top 10 individual placings for Zoe, Nicole and Jess. The team of Florence D, Frank, Nicole and Jess took the team win with the team of Lucy, Zoe, Jemima and Violet in hot pursuit in 3rd and Daisy, Florence A, Violet and Araiya in 6th.
At 80cm Zoe put in a fabulous quick double clear to win, Jemima H was 6th and Leila 8th. It was no surprise that their team, including Nicole who has an unlucky pole in her super speedy round, came out on top. The second team of Chloe, Isabella, Frank and Jemima finished a very respectable 5th.
Leila took a fabulous win in the 90cm with a very quick clear, with Jemima H in 8th. They were joined on the team by Chloe and Jemima M for a very credible 2nd place.
The last Flamstead rider to go in a very long day was Molly, who finished the day for Flamstead on a high with a super clear round for 2nd place.
A huge well done to all of our riders who exhibited great team spirit and enthusiasm throughout a long day. It is lovely to see the Flamstead teams going from strength to strength, please look out for our upcoming winter SJ rallies, including two at Bury Farm.
