Area 12 Winter Triathlon Qualifier

❄️ FPC Winter Triathlon – Competition Summary
It was an early start for the FPC team as we took on hosting duties for the shoot phase of the Winter Triathlon. A huge thank‑you to every volunteer who helped the day run as smoothly as possible – even with a few unexpected curve balls thrown our way.
We had an impressive 18 FPC athletes competing, including a couple of first‑timers – a warm welcome to all. The first discipline was the shoot, but the second discipline – the run had to endure the weather, as athletes battled mud, rain and relentless wind. Conditions were truly bleak, yet spirits stayed high. The final phase, the swim, brought its own drama with a mid‑event evacuation due to a fire alarm. Thank you to Paul D for helping the Tring Sports Centre team manage the situation swiftly and calmly.
🐝 Beanies
Our two brilliant Beanies put in fantastic performances:
•     Charlotte – 8th
•     Elsie – 11th
Together, as a mixed team, they secured an impressive 3rd place. Wonderful results.
🐸 Tadpoles
The Tadpoles were absolutely flying:
•     George, Jess and Rorty placed 3rd as an FPC Branch team.
•     George & Jess both had outstanding individual competitions, finishing 2nd individually, with Jess winning her shoot. Superb work.
⭐ Minis
This was one of the biggest and most competitive classes of the day, and our Minis rose to the challenge:
•     Mini Mavericks (Violet, Issy & Maddie) – 7th
•     Mighty Minis (Hugo, Oscar & Jemima) – 8th
In the boys’ class, Hugo Hooper delivered a standout performance, finishing 4th and qualifying for the Winter Champs. He also achieved an excellent 900 shoot score on his first time competing with turning targets. A brilliant achievement.
🏹 Juniors
Our Junior Branch team of Harvey, Penny, Zoe and Chloe placed 5th, with Nicole competing individually as she continues her recovery.
•     Penny – 6th individually, securing a Winter Champs qualifier
•     Harvey – 5th individually, also securing a Winter Champs qualifier
Strong, consistent performances across the board.
🏊‍♀️ Seniors
Our Senior team delivered a superb result, finishing 2nd overall.
•     Josie and Jess both swam 9+ lengths, showing real strength and determination.
•     Josie also secured her Winter Champs qualifier.
🎉 A Fantastic Day for FPC
With nearly 150 entries across the competition, this was a busy and challenging event. FPC athletes secured qualifiers in 4 out of 6 classes, an impressive achievement – and we’re confident more ‘out‑of‑area’ qualifiers will follow before the Winter Champs in March.
It was a long day, full of mud, surprises and memorable moments, but also full of personal bests, resilience and team spirit. Well done to every athlete, parent, helper and supporter. You made the day a success.
