Area Mounted Games

Let’s start with the wonderful Evie and Lili, a pairing that haven’t met since last area mounted games! They made it look so easy,  enjoying races in a mixed team in the Novice section with Herts Hunt riders. Well done Evie for joining us with a smile and fun attitude.

Seniors rode and worked as a team really well to finish 5th. We had mainly junior age riders; Sienna, Ciara, and Hugo,  in the team with our two seniors Lyra and Zoe. With the youngest team by a long way, we chose to ride to include our youngest riders as much as possible to give them race experience, rather than for the win.  We are really proud of them all for riding really well together.

Our pairs entry of Lyra (on Dibley the Shetland) and Zoe (on Buzz) blew all but the oldest and most experienced pairs away. They won or came second in a few races, even beating the eventual winning pair from Oakley Hunt in the hardest race, the tyre race, and winning the old sock race too. They eventually finished in 5^th place. Top 3 pairs qualify for Zones and they finished only 2 points away from zones qualification! So next year watch this space, it is the first year they have been old enough to compete as a pair (11-18 year olds)!
