Tetrathlon Mini Home Internationals

Mini Home International Tetrathlon – Oxstalls
Harvey Rainbow – Central England team, 1st year Junior Boy
Another weekend to remember!  Harvey started it with a good shoot of 800 and a PB in his swim to put him in fourth place overnight in a tough class.
On returning to Oxstalls, the Central England team were so lucky to have a fabulous cross-country course walk with Nick Gauntlett with additional insights from Harry Mead, which was really helpful. It was interesting, as last year Harvey was slightly daunted by the Cross-country course, yet this year when walking the course, Harvey was so much more confidence and ready!
Sunday –
It was a hot and sweaty start to Sunday and after a third course walk, our plan was confirmed & Harvey was keen and ready to tackle this technical XC course. Let’s say this was the character-building part, but sadly during the warmup Harveys pony was not quite right and intermittently lame, so we withdraw from the ride phase, which was so disappointing.
Knowing he had lost his ride score, Harvey showed great strength in character running a 1500m PB of 5.30 in the very hot temperatures on and field track.
With a good tri score and several riders not scoring due to the technicality of the xc on the ride phase, Harvey was really pleased to be placed 7th – He now realises where he could have been placed, if he had a ride score !!!!!
I am so proud of the hard work and commitment that Harvey has shown and the strength of character, when things didn’t go to plan!!! Harvey priority was to the welfare of his pony.
It was a fab weekend; we made some great friends and are looking forward to continuing this fab tetrathlon journey.
