Winter Triathlon Finals

In the culmination of the Winter Triathlon Series run across the UK &NI, those that had qualified travelled to Grantham on Sunday to compete for the Branch and Area in the Championships. The athletic standard at this event is always very high and this year was certainly no exception.

We were thrilled to have 5 Flamstead qualifiers competing in the Area 12 teams this year: Josie and Jess in the Seniors, Lily in the Juniors and Harvey & Lucy in the Minis, with Lily and Lucy being first timers at this prestigious event.

With around 50 competitors in each class, up to 23 teams in each section and athletes from across the nation, we were thrilled that our Senior team came 5^th, with Josie placing 7^th individually. Jess also scored very respectably in 34th – well done girls. In the Juniors Lily pulled out an astonishing run – putting it all on the line and coming away with the Best Run in the Section – congratulations! In the Minis Harvey and Lucy scored what would have been super in the Area but were just up against incredible national level athletes – but had big smiles nonetheless and were a joy to have in the team.

We all had such a lovely day with our Area 12 teammates and friends from across the Tet community.
