Week 21 May 2024

Mini Camp

Setting up mini camp will take place on Tuesday 28th May at 6pm. We need parents of members attending mini camp to help set up:

  • 2 show jumping courses
  • XC jumps
  • Handy pony
  • Take equipment to each arena – jumps, games equipment
  • Put up gazebo
  • Marquee – put out tables and chairs

Donations of biscuits and cakes for mini camp gratefully received. Please bring them on the first day of mini camp.

 

Main Camp

Please could members wishing to come to camp send me their camp application forms asap dc@fndponyclub.org.uk

Please make sure you pony’s flu vaccination is up to date for camp.

 

Branch Trophies

Every year trophies are awarded in the branch to members:

  • Louise Williams trophy – awarded to the highest placed Flint and Denbigh member at the area dressage.
  • Gemini Gentleman trophy – awarded to the Highest placed flint and Denbigh member at the area show jumping
  • Lorna Rees trophy – awarded to the Best all round member, i.e. attendance at rallies, training, representing the branch at different sports, etc.
  • Camp Cup- awarded to most helpful member at main camp

This year there will be two more trophies to be awarded, but we are yet to decide what we shall be giving them for.

Picnic Ride

On a glorious Sunday morning 11 young members enjoyed a fun cross country ride at Mostyn before having a picnic and play. Thank you to Mostyn Farm, Helga for instructing and Mari for organising.

 

Rule Amendment – Dressage and Show Jumping (issued 16/05/2024)

It was the intention of the Dressage and Show Jumping Committees to allow combinations to compete at both (Grassroots) PC80 and (Preliminary) PC70 from 2024, however the current rules do not reflect this. Therefore, the rules will be amended (in red) as follows:

Rule 4. ELIGIBILITY

PRELIMINARY PC70 REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Area Competitions and Championships:

Riders must be aged 13 and under on 1st January of the current year.

Combination of horse and rider are NOT eligible if they have:

  • represented their Branch/Centre at Grassroots level or above in any Dressage or Eventing Area Competitions in any previous year.
  • completed above Prelim level with British Dressage (or DI) or at BD Novice Team/My Quest.
  • previously completed a Spring Festival Grassroots or above Dressage Championships

PRELIMINARY PC70 PLUS REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

This is a class solely for individuals. There is no team competition.

Members must be aged 14 and over on 1st January of the current year.

Combination of horse and rider are NOT eligible if they have:

  • completed above Prelim level with British Dressage (or DI) or at BD Novice Team/My Quest.
  • completed at any Grassroots or above Area or Regional Competition for Dressage in any previous year.
  • previously completed a Spring Festival Grassroots Dressage Championships

  1. e) PC70 (REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS)

Riders must be aged 13 and under on 1st January of the current year.

Combination of horse and rider are NOT eligible if they have:

  • Completed at PC80 level or above in any Spring Festival or summer Show Jumping or summer Eventing Area Competitions or Championships in any previous year.
  • Previously completed a BS/SJI competition with a starting height of 80cm or above.

PC70 PLUS

This is a class solely for individuals. There is no team competition. Members must be aged 14 and over on 1st January of the current year. Combination of horse and rider are NOT eligible if they have:

  • Completed at PC80 level or above in any Spring Festival or summer Show Jumping or summer Eventing Area Competitions or Championships in any previous year.
  • Previously completed a BS/SJI competition with a starting height of 80cm or above.

Please be aware that the online rulebooks will reflect the above changes, but printed copies will not.
