Tetrathlon Champs

“GOOD LUCK to all those FnD’s who have qualified/are competing at the Tetrathlon Champs this week end in Offchurch. Flint and Denbigh have an Intermediate team of Harriet Pownall, Leah Lamb and Olivia Bexon which qualified.  Also Orla Kissane, who has only just returned from competing in Ireland, has qualified as a Junior.  Lleucu Newton also qualified as a Junior and Macsen has been selected for the Wales and Borders team in the Stepping Stones competition.  Well done and we hope you all have a super week-end”

Event Training

There is event training at Forest Gate Farm with Richard Carruthers on Friday 30th August.

Please let Louise Shepherd know you are booking on.

Camp

Another camp is over for another year. Thank you to Geoff Monk and family at Mostyn farm ride for allowing us to be there. We were all well fed at lunch time by Ann Jones and her assistants Jo, Lindy, Siân, Sue and Nigel.

The members had great instruction from their coaches, Louise, Paul, Debbie, Sam, Helga, Zahra, Alice and Charlotte.

I would like to wish Zahra all the best in her new teaching post in Dubai. We shall all miss you over the next 12 months but look forward to you returning at Christmas and in time for next year’s camp.

Thank you also to Iona for her organising of the timetable and everything you do behind the scenes.

Kathleen has taken some great action photos of members at camp. Available to buy at KC photography.

The Pony Club Area 5 Pony Racing Rally

Wednesday 28th August 2024, from approximately 10am

Clwydian Stud, Overton. LL13 0LF

By Kind Permission of Alice & Amy Bannister-Bell

Come and find out more about Pony Racing, you do not need a Racing Pony, or a very fast pony, this is all about finding out what goes on.  There will be unmounted session, working on:-

  • Balance and fitness
  • Equisiser – how to hold the reins, ride shorter
  • Riding – putting into practice what you learned in the unmounted session

We will be doing work towards the Pony Racing Badge, also The Rider Fitness and Rider Nutrition Badges.

Numbers are strictly limited and will be on a first come basis, with a waiting list.

Are you planning on coming Pony Racing at Bangor-on-Dee in September?  This is ideal preparation.

The Good News: this rally is £5.00. The costs are being met by the funding that The Racing Foundation gives to Pony Racing.

I am expecting the rally to last three hours, and a parent/guardian must be present for each participant.

Ideally the participants will be aged between 9yrs and 15yrs.

Entries are opening on Horse Events. Area 5 Pony Racing Rally.

I will then send out further information.  Looking forward to hearing from you.
