Main Camp – Payments

Please could parents/guardians ensure that camp payments are made ASAP.

A MESSAGE TO ALL PONY CLUB PARENTS

Dear Parents,

We are incredibly proud of our Pony Club Branch and the opportunities it gives our children – not just to ride and compete, but to grow, learn, and be part of something much bigger than themselves. These events, rallies, and team opportunities don’t happen by magic – they rely entirely on volunteers.

And that means YOU.

It has become increasingly clear that the same group of parents are doing the majority of the work – organizing events, setting up, packing up and stewarding – while others simply watch from the sidelines. This is neither fair nor sustainable.

We also need to be honest: there is growing expectation from some that their child will be selected for teams or enjoy the benefits of a well-run event, without contributing any time or effort to make those things happen. That is not how this club – or any club – can operate.

We will be moving forward with a simple principle:

If you expect your child to benefit from the club, you must be willing to contribute to it.

This could be helping at an event, supporting set-up/pack up, putting poles up at competitions, stewarding – there are roles for everyone, regardless of experience. No need is too small but doing nothing is no longer acceptable.

Let’s share the load, support each other, and set the example we want our children to follow.

Thank you to the parents who always step up. To everyone else – now is the time.

Area Horse Trials – Volunteers Needed

Our Branch is joint organisers with CHS for the Area Horse Trials. Please could you let Bethan know if you are available to help at Kelsall on Sunday 6th July, and if you are available for the whole day or half a day. Thank you. (dc@fndponyclub.org.uk)

Area Dressage, Show Jumping and Horse Trials

Entries are open. Please let the team organiser know which classes you are entering.

Good luck to the members competing at the Area Tetrathlon/triathlon being held at Mostyn this next weekend.

Advice on the Use of Bouncy Castles

PCUK have put some guidance regarding bouncy castles into the resource hub: Guidance to the use of Bouncy Castles at Pony Club Events.

This has been driven by quite a few enquiries of late, and there have been a number of reported fatal accidents with inflatable activity kit becoming airborne with children inside, so it is vital that they are properly and professionally secured. There really can’t be anything worse than children having fun and then the worst happening. Howden have confirmed they won’t insure privately owned ones.
