Horse Trials Report

On behalf of Chris, Geoff, Louise and myself, I am delighted to report on the recent Area Horse Trials held at the superb venue Kelsall Hill. It was a pleasure to work with such a dedicated and experienced team, and we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who volunteered to make the day such a success.

We were thrilled to welcome teams from Pony Club Branches across Area 4 and 5, as well as representatives from Ludlow Branch, and Area 20 Riding Clubs. The spirit of friendly competition and sportsmanship was evident throughout the day.

Dominice built a fair and educational cross country course that challenged and inspired competitors, while Gllie Milner designed a flowing and well-received show jumping course. Nicky Frer and her fantastic team of dressage volunteers kept six dressage arenas running smoothly from early in the morning. The day followed seamlessly with show jumping and cross country running to time.

The competitors enjoyed a brilliant day of sport, and we were proud to see such strong performances across the board. A special thank you goes to our sponsors, whose support helped provide the beautiful sashes and rosettes presented to the winners.

Full results are available on Pony Club Results.

Our sincere thanks go to the army of volunteers who gave up their valuable time to ensure the event ran safely and smoothly- far too many to name individually, but each one played a vital role. Special mention goes to Sue Thompson for managing the times and the scoring, and to Jo from Entrymaster for her support both before and during the event.

We’ve received so many positive comments from members and parents alike, who thoroughly enjoyed the competition and appreciated the effort that went into organizing such a high-quality event.

Congratulations to all who took part, and best of luck to those who have qualified- either as individuals or as part of a team – for the JCB championship or the Regional championships taking place in August.
