Young coaches at Mini Camp

We are looking for older members 13+ who would like to learn more about coaching and gain some practical experience helping younger members at mini camp.

There will be a session with Louise to give an introduction and explain the Coaching Pathway in the Pony Club. Members will then be buddied with an instructor at mini camp to help coach and support their group.

Members would need to be able to commit to at least one full day at mini camp, which takes place from 24 to 26 May. If you are interested please contact Catherine on 07856 061833 or secretary@fndponyclub.org.uk

Volunteers at Mini Camp

We are looking forward to a great mini camp again this year, and we need your help to make it a success. Volunteers are needed to set up at Glan Y Wern on Thursday 21 May, meeting at 6pm. All families who are attending mini camp should help out if they can. We need people to set up:

  • SJ courses
  • Dressage arenas
  • XC
  • Marquee (tables & chairs)
  • Mounted games

Everyone’s help will also be needed at the end of the final day to put everything away again.

Please contact Catherine on 07856 061833 or secretary@fndponyclub.org.uk to confirm if you will be able to help.

Secondhand stall at Mini Camp

We are running a secondhand stall again at mini and main camp after the success last year. Please do come and see us, open every morning and lunchtime. We are happy to sell items for people, but ask that you make a donation to the Pony Club (either 10% or other secondhand items). If you are selling items, please attach a label with your name, number and asking price. You can bring things on 21 May when we are setting up, or on the first morning of camp. We have a card machine this year, internet connection permitting 🙂

Cheshire Hunt South Games Friendly Competition – Results

Sunday 15th March was an action-packed and successful day for Flint & Denbigh members at Byley Equestrian, Middlewich. The Junior team – Anni Morgan, Alys Evans, Megan Evans, Elis Roberts, and Lyla Leevey – started bright and early at 9am and delivered a fantastic performance to secure 2nd place overall. The junior novice lead rein team, featuring Ifan Johnson, Esmay Eastwood, Brooke Leevey, and Cai Dixon, impressed everyone with their riding skills and proudly took home 1st place – all at just 5 years old or younger! The junior novice assisted team, made up of Jac Dixon, Nansi Evans, Tomos Bowen, Elena Roberts, and Harri Morgan, also shone, demonstrating remarkable progress since last season to achieve 3rd place – an outstanding achievement.

Our senior team of Catrin Morgan, Ffion Roberts, Ellen Roberts, Elis Roberts, and Felicity from East Cheshire took part in their very first senior competition and performed brilliantly, finishing 3rd in the B Final.

A huge thank you goes to our dedicated trainer, Joe Owen, who supported our teams in the arena for over six hours, much of it in torrential rain! We are also incredibly grateful to all the parents who pitched in by stewarding, helping with tacking up ponies, and looking after the children throughout the day. It was truly a wonderful team effort – well done to everyone involved!
