Championships Report

The second week of the Pony Club Championships saw the Flint & Denbigh hunt branch compete in the Horse and Pony Care competition. The mini team did well coming 17th out of 48 teams. We had two junior teams who qualified with one coming 7th which was amazing.

Lleucu Newton competed in the 110cm show jumping class and finished 14th out of 60 competitors. The jumps looked huge.

Congratulations to all our members who have received their GCSE & A level results. Good luck to you all for the future.

HORSE & PONY CARE

We were delighted to take 3 teams to champs this year to do horse and pony care. All of our team members worked incredibly hard and we were so proud of every single one of them! The mini team of Eiri, Elis and Lyla performed amazingly and were only 2 points off a placing with Eiri and Elis both getting an outstanding recommendation.

Our junior teams had very stiff competition and I’m sure the questions get harder every year! Both teams worked really hard and we were so proud of their learning and their sportsmanship staying to support our teams and join in with the fun even when not at the top of the scoreboard – it’s really what it’s all about and we couldn’t have been prouder. Our Connemara team finished an outstanding 7th overall, with both Anwen and Ffion being recognised as outstanding twice each!

A huge thank you to all parents, instructors and members who have been involved. I’m so proud of this aspect of our branch.

If anyone would like to be involved with next years quiz and/or care please contact Suzanne at badges@fndponyclub.org.uk. There are categories for under 10, 11-14, and also seniors. We would love some teams for next year. It’s a great way to increase pony care knowledge and I promise you will have fun and earn lots of pony club badges on the way! We won’t start training until after Christmas for the area quiz which is held on Sunday 28th February 2027 😊.
