AREA 5 TRIATHLON – FANTASTIC FnD – 14/01/24

26 teams competed at the Area 5 Triathlon competition in Mold and Flint and Denbigh Branch WON once again.

The day was not without its challenges however.  In the shoot, there were numerous guns which malfunctioned which was disrupting.  We even had someone wanting the loo in the middle of their shoot—that was a new one !  In the run, there was mud galore plus rain and a cold wind.  Time slips were soaked or blown away.  The swim was an hour earlier than advertised which caused some confusion and a few late swimmers!

Flint and Denbigh had 26 members competing who were put into 7 teams.  Nine members were Bean Bag competitors.

• Winning Team was ORLA KISSANE, CASPER KISSANE, SEREN WALSH and CATRIN MORGAN.
• Orla won the Junior Girls class with top run and top shoot of 900.
• Casper won the Junior Boys class with another top run of 3 min 53 secs. Corrin must know of some superfood !  Casper did a PB shoot.
• Seren won the Tadpole Girls class with top run and top swim. Seren is an excellent shot in practices but doesn’t get the same results in competition.
• Catrin was 3rd Tadpole Girl with equal top shoot of 840 with Zoe James (FnD) who was 2nd placed Tadpole Girl.  The whole team was amazing.
• Olivia Bexon competing for the first time for FnD came 4th Senior Girl with Top swim.  Her shoot let her down.  She was in a 7th placed team with Mali Evans, Megan Evans and Zoe James.
• Joseff James and Marcus Rosser were 2nd and 3rd respectively in the beanie Boys with equal top swims.

A really great day was had by all.  Next competition is the Qualifier on March 10th.
