Barrier Health Spring Festival 2026

Dressage

Our members that qualified from the area competitions headed down to Addington to compete at the Barrier Health Spring Festival. The team of Zoe, Jess and Belle competed in both the preliminary and Grassroots classes. Megan had qualified individually for both classes and Alys for the Grassroots. Isobel had qualified individually for the intermediate class. They were all immaculately turned out and rode well.

The all delivered outstanding performances, with the team taking 1st place in the preliminary class. Individual placing went to 5th Zoe, 6th Belle, & Jess. Megan also came 6th in her section.

In the Grassroots class the team had a commendable 5th place overall with Zoe also finishing 5th individually.

In the intermediate class Isobel did a great test but not in the placings this time. The standard of competition was very high and I was incredibly proud of our members.

A huge thank you goes to Becky who organises dressage training for all our members, which played a key role in this success.

Show Jumping

Our show jumping team had a fantastic performance at the festival, showcasing great skill, determination, and teamwork throughout.

The team of Angharad, Megan and Catrin proudly represented us in the 70/80 cm class, having qualified through consistent effort and dedication. They delivered an outstanding first round, all going clear with confident and controlled riding. Progressing to the jump off, they maintained their composure under pressure, riding with accuracy and focus against the clock to secure an excellent 3rd place finish.

Meelie had qualified for the 80/90 cm class and had a lovely round, but had an unfortunate pole down.

Elin and Angharad also performed brilliantly, both for the competitive 90/100cm class, further highlighting the strength and depth of talent within our branch.

Isobel qualified for both 100 and 110 cm classes, an impressive achievements in itself. She was truly amazing to watch, demonstrating skill, confidence, and a strong partnership with her horse in both classes.

A huge thank you goes to Mari and Sian for organising and supporting the training for our branch. Their dedication has played a key role in the success we’ve seen this season.

All teams and individuals have performed fantastically over the past season, and these results are a testament to the hard work, commitment, and passion shown by everyone involved.

Arena Eventing

Well done to all our riders who represented the branch in the arena eventing competition at the festival.

The 70 and 80 team made up of Catrin, Megan and Zoe all rode with confidence and determination over a very challenging course of show jumps and cross country style fences.

In the 70cm class, the team achieved a fantastic 5th place showing great teamwork and consistent riding. In the 80cm class, they continued to perform well and were just outside of the placings.

Ffion competed as an individual and delivered a strong, determined round. She rode brilliantly throughout both classes and was also just outside the individual placings.

A big thank you goes to Louise for organising the training sessions leading up to the event. These sessions have been invaluable and continue to support the development of all members.

Despite the bitterly cold weather, it was thoroughly enjoyable 3 days, with great team spirit and support from all members.

Congratulations to Megan for qualifying for all three sports: quite an achievement to be doing dressage, show jumping and arena eventing. Megan received a special award at the festival.

Well done to everyone involved and especially a thank you to the organisers, volunteers and sponsors, Barrier Health.
