Dry Tri at Tyddyn Y Gwynt, Mold – Results
A great day was had on 30th October, although it was a bit chilly at the farm of Sian and James Davies-Cooke for the Area 5 Dry Tri (no swimming). It was quite disrupting for Sian and James but they worked hard to accommodate us, so thank you Sian and James.
There were 50+ little people entered. The competition was aimed at the younger end of the members and beginners. The riding took place in an arena – thank you to the Flint & Denbigh Branch for the use of their show jumps. Courses were 40cm up to 80cm. There were 4 adults who had a go which added to the entertainment! Many of the Beanie class were on the lead which, again was entertaining to watch. They did so well – as did the leaders!
30+ of the entries were from F&D and there were also entries from Anglesey, Berwyn & Dee, Tanatside, North Shropshire and Waen Y Llyn, and one Tadpole competitor from Cheshire.
There were 14 teams, and the team competition was won by F&D Supremes (Catrin M, Megan E, Alys E and Marcus R) with a score of 10396! Anglesey came 2nd with 9757 and F&D Stingers (Anni M, Peter D-C, Ellen R and Angharad D-C) were 3rd with a 9253 score.
- Jack Jones (Tanatside) won the 20-strong Beanies with a clear round score of 1400.
- Alys Evans won the 16-strong Tadpole class with a clear round and top shoot of 960. Her twin sister Megan came 2nd with top run (3 minutes) and a clear round.
- Catrin Morgan won the Mini class with a top shoot of 960 and top run.
- Archie Rigg from Anglesey had the top shoot of the day with 980.
Thank you to all the Volunteers who helped run the day.

Winter League Show Jumping – Results
On Sunday, 26 F&D members and their ponies went to Kelsall for the WL show jumping. A challenging course was set out in the impressive arena. It was a great turnout, and a few classes had over 50 competitors!
The course did catch a few of our riders out, however, as always, our members showed resilience and determination, dealing with the ups and downs of riding extremely well. Our riders always support each other, are great team members, and deal with all situations well. Something they should all be proud of. Thank you to Berwyn & Dee, and Tanatside PC for organising. Next week it is our turn to host, and I’m sure we will put on a good competition for all. If anyone who hasn’t done WL would like to see what it’s about, you are welcome to come and watch at Northop next Sunday. Or if you would like to get involved by helping, please let Mari know.
