What’s on this month

Use the calendar on the website to see what’s on and book.

Rally at Equiti tomorrow – spaces

A few spaces have become available tomorrow in various groups at Equiti. Please let Aloma know this evening if you would like a space (llysfaen@fndponyclub.org.uk).

Volunteer Rota for Winter League Dressage

Volunteers are still needed for our upcoming WL dressage. We are looking for volunteers to help make the day run smoothly. There are still a few slots that need filling: collecting ring steward, scoring, judges writer, poo picking etc.

These events for our members simply couldn’t happen without support from the members, parents and volunteers. Please contact Catherine (secretary) to put your name down.

International Mounted Games Competition – Ireland

Helen and Sian Jones have just returned from Ireland where Helen and Chester have been representing Wales in the Irish Pony Club International Mounted Games Competition in Barnadown, Co Wexford. They travelled over to Ireland on Thursday and met up with the rest of the Wales team from Windsor week (2 members of the Wynnstay and 3 from South Wales).

The team trained together on Thursday and Friday and the competition was held on Saturday and Sunday with 3 heats and then a final.

They competed against the teams from England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and a United Nations team. It was a very close competition with Helen and her fellow Welsh riders doing amazingly well throughout, unfortunately they couldn’t quite get enough points to beat Scotland or England and they finished in third place. It was a great experience meeting up with the Welsh team again with Elaine Trevor Jones training them.

In between training sessions they also managed to do some sightseeing in Gorey and Corstown and the Irish Pony Club put on a quiz and social events for us in the evenings.
