Area 7 Show Jumping Qualifiers at Solihull Riding Club

We had a huge squad representing Ludlow at the Area 7 Show Jumping Qualifiers at Solihull Riding Club, the biggest of any pony club attending with 42 entries across the day! The hot weather meant we all had to pull together to keep ponies and children cool in the heat, but thanks to Miles Dearden who packed his trailer with our pony club gazebo we where able to provide shade for everyone watching the action on the outdoor arena, luckily a cool breeze also helped out hugely.

In the 70 cm class we had the Ludlow Brimstone team of Edie Nolan, Olive Windsor Clive, Florence Tilby and Cordelia Dearden who placed 3rd and qualified for Regionals! Our Ludlow Blues team of Erin Gwilliam, Eva Crompton, Olivia Beaumont and Grace Windsor Clive came team 5th and also qualified. Individually, Erin Gwilliam was highest place Ludlow placing 4th with Cheeky Charlie and Cordelia Dearden came 8th on Tiger.

Also qualifying individually for Regionals were Olive Windsor Clive on her lovely Ardville little fun and Cordelia Dearden on Rhubarb and Custard.

In the 80cm team competition all our teams qualified for Regionals. The Ludlow Admirals Anya Smith, Nancy Potter, Izzy Archer Gwilliam and Cordelia Dearden (riding Rhubarb) came team 4th. Our Ludlow Commas team of Olivia Beaumont, Oscar Morgan, Islay Craig Alliani and Erin Gwilliam placed team 6th, and our Ludlow Emperors team of Florence Tilby, Eva Crompton, Edie Nolan and Grace Windsor Clive came team 8th .

Highest placed Ludlow individually was Islay Craig Alliani riding Rhians pride in 9th place. Cordelia also qualified on her second ride Drumbore Oddpatch individually in this class.

In the 90cm our individuals Oscar Morgan riding Windhill Pye and Cordelia Dearden riding Cruz V joined the mixed Area 7 team qualifying for national championships. With Cordelia also placed 9th overall individually after two lovely rounds.

In the 100 cm we had Emily Walsh stepping up in her first PC100 show jumping class gaining a respectable 6th place with lovely Rosemary .

We had so many new combinations competing, so exciting for the future. Huge thanks to everyone who came along and supported the teams. Also huge thanks to our coaches Rosie Thomas, Harriet Beaumont and Beccy Fitter, who were kept so busy course walking and warming up in the hottest parts of the day.
