New Forest Shines at National Championships

What a week it was at the National Championships this August, as our New Forest members proudly represented our branch across all disciplines. The event was marked by some outstanding performances and camaraderie among members.

Junior Tetrathlon Brilliance:
Kicking off the week, Sam and Christina showcased the best of their athletic prowess in the Junior Tetrathlon. Sam’s impressive ride on Freddie secured a top 20 position, and as part of a mixed team, they brought home a coveted 1st place rosette.

Dressage and Show Jumping Success:
Eloise delivered a great performance as part of a mixed area team in the open dressage, earning a commendable 9th place in her section. Meanwhile, Sam made a midweek return with Freddie for the 90cm show jumping, tackling a full up challenging course with gusto. Erin also put in a solid performance riding Fred in the intermediate dressage, just missing out on the rosettes.

Eventing Highlight:
Towards the end of the week, Imo delivered a great performance in the 90cm eventing section. A smart test and double clear rounds on two technical tracks earned her and Ed an impressive 8th place finish.

Horse and Pony Care Excellence:
A notable achievement at this Champs was our first-ever horse and pony care team comprising Milly, Flo, and Christina. They demonstrated their extensive knowledge and skills in this dismounted competition, finishing just a couple of points shy of the rosettes.

Words of encouragement:

Our DC, Sue Mitchell, expressed immense pride at the turn out for Champs, “I am very proud of our members as we have somebody representing the branch in Tet, Dressage, Show Jumping, Eventing, and Horse & Pony Care next week at National Championships. Lots of hard work, dedication, and training with fantastic support from parents and coaches. Have a great time and enjoy yourselves!”

Lyndsey Stride shared, “Thank you to everyone who helped get the team to champs. It was an incredible experience.”

Hazel El Hakim added, “Brilliant work all, well done!”

Congratulations to all our members for their incredible efforts and achievements at the National Championships. Your hard work and dedication inspires us all.
