Triumphant Performances at Areas
This has been a remarkable summer for our branch, showcasing extraordinary talent and teamwork at the Area Competitions. Our riders have demonstrated exceptional skill, securing impressive results across the board in all sports, Area Dressage, Show Jumping, and Eventing.
Area Dressage – June 23rd
A bright and successful day marked the start of the area competitions. With 14 members representing our branch, everyone was impeccably turned out and rode their tests with confidence. Highlights include the PC80 team of Beatrice-Rose, Liv, Charlotte, and Freya securing a team 3rd place, with individual placings of 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 11th respectively in their sections.
Our PC70 newcomers, Flo, Freya, Georgina, and Lottie, had a commendable debut, with Flo placing 4th in her section.
The Intermediate team of Erin, Eloise, Milly, and Imo achieved a team 5th, with Erin placing 10th individually. Eloise competed in the Open, finishing 7th individually and securing a team 1st with her mixed area team.
Congratulations to Beatrice-Rose, Liv, Charlotte, Freya, and Flo for qualifying for the South-West Regional Championships, and to Erin and Eloise for their qualifications to the PC National Championships. A special thank you to Jodie for her stellar team training and to Helen for her excellent organisation as dressage manager.
Area Show Jumping – June 30th
Mendip Plains hosted a long, yet rewarding day of show jumping. Our 18 members competed from the 70 class up to the 100 class, forming five strong teams. The 70 class saw Lottie, Emie, Lily, and Floss achieve a team 6th, with Floss finishing the day on a double clear securing 6th individually. The 80 class riders, including Beatrice-Rose, Polly, Liv, Ella, Charlotte, and Freya F, showcased strong performances with double clears from Polly, Freya F, and Ella, leading to a team 3rd place. In the 90 class, Sam’s exceptional triple clear earned him a 3rd place individually. Eloise, our solo competitor in the 100 class, showed some great riding and displayed outstanding horsemanship. We are proud to announce qualifiers for the Regional Championships: Floss, Lily, Emie, Lottie, Lucy, Freya F, Liv, Charlotte, Ella, and Polly, with Sam qualifying for the National Championships. Thanks to our Show Jumping managers Sophie and Hannah for their hard work leading up to the event.
Area Eventing – July 21st
The final area competition at Larkhill offered challenging courses and superb riding all round.
Our 70 team of Flo, Georgina, and Beatrice-Rose rode brilliantly marking many firsts, while the 80 teams of Erin, Saskia, Christina, Freya, Charlotte, Phoebe, and Liv impressed with strong tests, clear show jumping rounds and great XC riding. Phoebe, Liv, and Freya earned double clears, securing regional championship qualifications. The 90 team of Taggie, Sam, Tori, and Imo demonstrated strong disciplines, with Imo achieving an impressive double clear and a 6th place to qualify for nationals.
