When you join our branch you will be welcomed in the OBHS family wherever you are on your pony owning journey, whether you have just started or are ready to compete at the highest levels nationally.

We have a whole range of members from those who are getting to grips with a first pony, whatever age the rider is, to those who are more advanced and want the backing to aim for the stars.
We firmly believe that Pony Club is all about a balance between having fun and making friends on the one hand and learning, gaining skills and competing on the other.

OBHS Rallies

We typically hold two rallies per month with a varied focus between flat work, showjumping, cross country, efficiency training and mounted games fun.

The venues we use the most are Hedsor Park FarmBCA and Hammer and Harp .  Sessions typically last an hour and riders are put into a group with others who are at a roughly similar stage.

We encourage our members to attend at least one rally every three months so we can get to know you and get you involved in teams.

OBHS’s Friday Night Club

Every other Friday night from April to October at 6pm OBHS runs a Club which all members are warmly invited to attend.  The sessions are a balance between doing some fun activities and training for Pony Club Tests and Achievement Badges  It’s also a great way for everyone to get to know each other a bit better.  The Club is usually held at Low Meadow Farm, Windsor Road, Dukes Valley, Gerrards Cross, SL9 8SR and is bookable via Entrymaster.

OBHS Competitions and Teams

Once you have attended two rallies with us you can start competing with the Branch.  You can join our Showjumping, Dressage and Eventing WhatsApp groups for lots of tips on upcoming competitions.  We have a very friendly process for team selection so that everyone can have a go.

Join the WhatsApp groups by contacting the relevant Team Manager on the Contact OBHS page.

OBHS Events and Summer Camp

Each year OBHS organises two major events – an Eventer Challenge in spring and a Hallowe’en Show in October.  We rely on parent volunteers to help run these events – volunteering is really good fun and a great way to get to know other parents in the Branch.

During the summer holidays we hold a Residential Camp for members 11 years and over and a non-residential Junior Camp for those under 11.  We also have a 2-day Mini Camp for our youngest members.

OBHS Communication

We prefer WhatsApp over email as people tend to find it easier.  There are four WhatsApp Groups:

  • An OBHS Announcements WhatsApp Group – this is our main form of communication where you will get updates about events and rallies.  You can join the group using this link
  • Three individual discipline WhatsApp groups – for Showjumping, Dressage and Eventing.  Anyone who wants to get involved in those teams and competitions can join these by contacting the relevant Team Manager on Contact OBHS
