Our event riders had a wonderful day at the Area 3 2023 Qualifier at Breckenbrough.
Our young jockey was over to moon to have her first lesson with DC Liz on her pony Blueberry. This was an extra special day as Liz taught this young rider’s mother and sisters during their time in Pony Club.

On Saturday the 16th March I had a brilliant lesson with Hannah on Showjumping. It was at Yorkshire Equestrian Centre which is a lovely outdoor arena with lots of space. It was a brilliant day with the sun shining and Hannah was outstanding teaching me to get out of the habit of having loose reins. The other people with me were lovely and we all had a great time together. We started with a small warm up jump and then moved onto to jumping half of the course that has been already set up to practice. Then to finish off we all tried the entire course for a bit of fun with it being a good day. It was a great opportunity to practice over some different kind of jumps to what my horse is used to with colourful fillers.
“On Saturday I had a very enjoyable and educational cross country lesson with Hannah at Hopton Horse Centre. The arena was very nice and spacious with lots of jumps, with a range of different heights. I have done very little cross country in the past and this lesson gave me lots of confidence. Hannah really took her time with me and my pony Lily, and because of that, Lily also gained lots of confidence and really enjoyed what she was doing which is very important. We started with a small log to get us into the swing of things and then gradually built on from that, adding in some steps, combinations and the water, which all 3 ponies found very exciting! The other ponies and riders that I was in a group with were lovely, and Hannah was very good at understanding each pony individually and what they would be like. It was a very fun day out practising different types of jumps that were quite different to what Lily and I had seen before. We are really looking forward to going back again soon.” Grace and Lily x
