In addition to our mounted activities and training we run a variety of unmounted activities and training for our members. This is available to members of all levels and abilities. The Pony Club strives to educate young people when it comes to caring for our four legged friends. This is something that our branch takes great pride in teaching our members, we aim to educate our members on not just how to take care of you horse/pony correctly but also the importance of correct horsemanship and horse-care.

Practical Horse-care

Our practical horse-care sessions cover a range of topics, anywhere from clipping to mucking our or handling and leading. These sessions give members a chance to take a hands on approach to learning. There is no need to bring your own pony to these sessions, they are run on a variety of local yards where the owners have kindly given us access to their facilities and horses/ponies.

Theory Based Horse-care

Our theory sessions give members an opportunity for some more in depth learning about horse care topics without the pressure of the practical element. These sessions are available to members of all ages and level, they can run as in house learning sessions or be taken by an outside speaker, providing members with ample opportunity to deepen their knowledge.

Online Sessions

During the pandemic we turned to online sessions to provide our members with some training. These proved to be very popular and have continued to be popular with out members. Our online sessions run over the inter months giving members a chance to continue their learning when the days are short and the weather is against us. These sessions are open to all and cover a variety of topics.
