WHAT TO WEAR

We really encourage all members to take pride in their branch and so ask that presentation is a top priority when it comes to turn out at rallies, training and competitions.

FOR RIDDEN RALLIES – TURN OUT FOR THE RIDER:

  • All riders’ hats must be to current standards and tagged with a pink tag. Ensure the chin strap is not too loose.
  • Body protectors (if worn) must be up to current standards. From 1st January 2024 all members must wear the level 3 BETA 2018 (blue label) body protector when competing at a Pony Club Event. You will also need the BETA 2018 body protector for jumping any fixed cross country fence whether that is on a cross country course or in an arena. The old standard body protectors may still be used for dressage and show jumping.
  • Hairnets to be worn please!
  • No jewellery
  • Jodhpurs/breeches (any colour permitted for rallies as they are clean and look smart!)
  • SH&RH branded polo shirt (& SH&RH branded sweatshirt if needed). No hoodies.
  • Gloves are recommended

FOR COMPETING:

Please remember when competing at a Pony Club competition, from lead rein to open eventing, you are there representing our branch and an effort for good turnout is always noticed!

For every discipline you will find Dress and Saddlery rules in the appropriate rule book. Please familiarise yourself with what to wear.

When wearing a jacket at Pony Club activities, the official Pony Club membership badge should be worn on the left lapel, with any test felt earned displayed underneath.

For XC, Endurance, Tetrathlon and Arena Eventing we kindly ask you to purchase a set of SH&RH XC skins – from Hardy Equestrian

FOR NON-RIDDEN RALLIES:

Please wear suitable footwear, bring hats and gloves if you’re handling ponies (grooming, loading, first aid etc).

SH&RH OFFICIAL KIT:

All of our personalised kit can be found at Hardy Equestrian.
