Volunteers

Volunteers make Pony Club happen!  All our events and rallies are organised by volunteers, they give our members opportunities to train and compete and some raise a bit of money too.   Our main fundraising effort is supplying the arena parties (building showjumps and replacing fallen poles) for the Thoresby Spring Carnival.  Our members and parents volunteer to do this, they see the world’s best event riders at close hand and learn a bit about the huge effort that goes into equestrian sport.

As our DC said, “volunteering is such an important thing to do, and sadly people give up their times less and less these days. In The Pony Club, volunteering is actively encouraged through schemes like YELA, and if we don’t keep encouraging our children to do this, sport will simply come to an end.”
