Chief Instructor Sarah Hallam
You can book all our rallies on the booking page, using your membership number.
Closing dates for rallies allow us to confirm details with venues and instructors in advance of the rally, usually a week beforehand. We will advertise spaces if they come up due to cancellation. Cancellations within the seven days before the rally will only be refunded if the space can be filled. Please do not attend if you have symptoms of COVID or have tested positive, or if you have a sickness bug.
Please check the Pony Club vaccination requirements to be sure that your pony is up to date
Times will be posted on the South Notts PC members Facebook group before the Rally date, and emailed to attendees, so please join this group!
With our Show Jumping rallies we always require parent/member help with setting up, moving arena fencing, and clearing away. Would members in the first and last group particularly PLEASE assist with this.
What is a rally? A working rally is one at which instruction is given and which is open to all members of the Branch within the age range for which it is intended. It may be either mounted or dismounted rally. A dismounted rally is usually for horse and pony care instruction. Team practices or coaching sessions do not qualify as a working rally.
-
Please book early for rallies, preferably as soon as the rally programme comes out. If members do this it enables us to quickly book the appropriate number and type of instructors.
-
Entries will close one week before rally date. If insufficient numbers, rallies may be cancelled. The number of spaces still available will be shown on the booking page if spaces are limited.
-
No refund will be made if cancelling within 7 days before the rally date, unless the place can be filled. Instructors and venues still have to be paid for!
-
Cancellations will be advertised on the members Facebook group
-
Correct dress should always be worn. See below.
-
Horses and Ponies should be neat and clean with well fitting and clean tack
-
Arrive in plenty of time. Be mounted and ready to ride at your allocated time especially at short sessions. If you are going to be late, please advise the rally organiser.
How do I know if I have a place on a rally? Rally groups and time slots allocated will be posted on the website a few days before the rally. Where there are insufficient numbers, we may have to cancel a rally – this is because we have to have a minimum number of riders to make the rally possible. If a rally is over-subscribed, we will operate a waiting list on a first come, first served basis and endeavour to offer an alternative date where possible. We are aware this can often be disappointing, but if members book in to rallies as early as possible, this gives us more of a chance of booking additional instructors or re-organising things to make sure the rally goes ahead – the later members book, the more difficult this is.
Where are rallies held? We use a variety of different settings, from indoor schools, arenas and members own land. Any queries please contact rally organiser.
