Option 1: drive through Kingsbridge towards Salcombe.  Just as you come out of West Alvington, fork right (opposite Kingsbridge cricket ground).   The second turning on the right (with stone  pillars with balls on top) is the Bowringsleigh drive.   If you are going to the stables follow the signs to Stable Flat/ Lower Holditch etc: you will end up in a yard next to the stables.

Option 2: if you are coming from Totnes, drive across Sorley Cross on the A381; then turn left at the next roundabout (Palegate Cross).  Very shortly after the roundabout, take the first right down a narrow lane, ignoring the signs saying “Ignore your sat nav”(!).   You will go down a hill, at the bottom of which is a cream lodge.  Turn right by the lodge and drive up the drive.    You will go across 2 cattle grids and then follow signs as per option 1 above.
