The Pony Club offers so many activities both non ridden and ridden and there can be a lot to discover! This page highlights useful information to get started, the Branch Committee are also on hand to help everyone with questions and offer guidance.

Pony Club Rules and Policies

To keep everyone safe and uphold fair sportsmanship it is important to have Rules and Policies for competition and to support Official decision making. We encourage everyone to familiarise themselves with the Rules and the Pony Club Policies. Login into the Resource Hub to find out more.

Parents’ Information

Volunteers and Officials all work together to offer a wealth of opportunities to Members. Parents and Guardians also play a vital role, discover more in the Resource Hub.

View our Welcome Letter which provides useful information all in a single place and provides answers to some FAQ. We would encourage everyone to take the time to read this and pay particular attention to the information regarding all members sending copies of their horses/ponies’ passports to the club secretary, information around the most recently published concussion advise from the pony club and the requirement for all administrators to ensure the special notes section on Pelham is completed in full.

Members Insurance

Every Member receives insurance cover from Howden Insurance Brokers Ltd, to protect Members whilst taking part in Pony Club and other equestrian activities. You will find information below about the insurance cover and it is strongly recommended that Parents, Guardians and Members review the information regarding the insurance policy provided.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and The Pony Club take Safeguarding very seriously. The Safeguarding Policy signposts a range of documents, provides guidance and key contacts to support those who may have concerns about a vulnerable child, young person or adult. The Branch Safeguarding Officer is available to discuss immediate concerns and you can visit the Resource Hub to find all the relevant documents.

Social Networking, Photography & Communication

No rider should be photographed or videoed without the consent of the parent / guardian if the member is under 18 years.

No pictures or videos should be shared, used for marketing purposes or posted online without consent.

Members Points Record

Our Branch is proud to recognise and celebrate all members achievements. Each year, running from 1st January to 31st December, members are encouraged to record all of their pony club activities on the record of attainment spreadsheet; all achievements are then shared and celebrated at our annual presentation awards evening.  This is a great way of recording members progress but also forms part of the application process for entering Pony Club Qualifier Championships.

All points records will need to be returned to Yolanda Spencer at the end of each calendar year.

Passports

In line with UK legislation, you must keep a valid passport and vaccination record with your animal at all times; this means that the passport must always accompany your animal and be available for inspection by event officials/ venue organisers upon request and all animals must be compliant with Pony Club minimum vaccinations (please see the website for current vaccination rules. Note: events that are held at other venues may be subject to additional vaccination rules). As a branch of the Pony Club, we feel a responsibility for ensuring a duty of care to every animal’s well-being. Therefore, we may perform checks of passports at our Area Dressage and every animal attending our summer camp.
