Rally Bookings, Payments and Cancellation Policy:

Bookings:

All bookings must be made and paid for online
Bookings will only be accepted by the “latest” date.

Bookings can only be accepted by parents/guardians (or appointed adult confirmed to PC Committee).
All rallies will be allocated on a strictly “first come, first served” basis.

Once your both booking and payment have been made you will receive a confirmation email.  Members will then be emailed start times 48 hours in advance.  Please note that specific ride times cannot be provided, if you sign up to a rally it is expected that you can ride at any time. At the time of booking it will indicate whether the rally has an AM or PM start time.

Please visit our Directions to Rally Venues further down this page if you need directions or if you need to clarify venue or parking arrangements.  However if you cannot find the information you need, please contact the rally organiser or vahsecretary@gmail.com for further information.

Payment:
All bookings must be paid for online at the time of booking.  If a booking is not paid for your place is not confirmed. If rallies are not paid for in advance, then members may not be permitted to ride or could be prevented from signing up to future rallies until payment is made.

Cancellation Policy:

All Rallies, including general working rallies, training in pairs and specified training of any discipline where no external hire of facilities has been made – withdrawal must be notified to Rally Organiser no later than 1 week of the rally date.  Outside of this period, no refund will be given unless the place is filled or at the discretion of the Chief Instructor.
Where external hire of facilities has been made e.g. XC and some SJ rallies, a refund cannot be made for any withdrawal at any time unless the place is filled or in the case or extenuating circumstances.

Role of Appointed Person

At each rally the organiser will allocate each group an Appointed Person. This will usually be a parent of a child participating in the rally. It is important that parents familiarise themselves with the responsibilities of the Appointed Person, and if appointed ensure they actively carry out the duties in accordance with the role. The role of First Aider is a different role and will be appointed separately.

The role of the Appointed Person is as follows:

  1. To organise and coordinate in the event of an incident, accident or emergency. They should know the event location coordinates, postcode and/or what3words and will be in charge of communications to any emergency services if required.
  1. They will ensure an online reporting form is completed for all fallers, accidents or incidents that may occur using the following link: https://form.libertyriskreduce.com/forms/pony-club-members
  1. They ensure that accidents, incidents or emergencies are reported to the DC, Chief instructor, and H&S officer as appropriate.

  1. They should assist the instructor as required, ensuring all droppings are picked up and that Member’s clear up after themselves, and to monitor parking.

Role of the Appointed First Aider

The role of the Appointed First Aider is to be in charge of first aid at rallies or events. They will be required to take the lead in administering first aid following any incidents, accidents or fallers at a Pony Club activity.

All appointed first aiders must have attended a required first aid course, be DBS checked and cleared by the Health and Safety Officer. Appointed First Aiders should check with the rally organiser that there is a first aid kit available at the venue before arrival.

The appointed person is responsible for reporting all incidents via the Pony Club portal.

DIRECTIONS TO RALLY and COMPETITION VENUES

Please find detailed below a list of directions to the various locations we use as a Pony Club.

BURY FARM EQUESTRIAN VILLAGE. MILL RD, SLAPTON, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE. LU7-9BT.

Directions from the North (M1)

Leave the M1 at Junction 12 onto the A5120 heading towards Toddington. Turn right onto Thorn Road and proceed until you reach the end where you will bear left onto the A5. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A505. When you reach the roundabout with McDonalds & a Shell Petrol Station, take the first exit onto the A4146 towards Billington then turn right onto Mill lane towards Little Billington and Bury farm is located on this road on the right hand side just before you enter Slapton.

Directions from the South (M1)

Leave the M1 at Junction 9, head towards Dunstable on the A5. Take the First exit onto the A505 at the McDonalds/Shell Petrol Station then turn right onto Mill Lane towards Little Billington and Bury farm is located on this road on the right hand side just before you enter Slapton.

Directions from Aylesbury

Follow the A418 towards Wing. At the roundabout take the third exit onto the A4146. At the McDonalds/Shell Petrol Station roundabout take the third exit onto the A4146 towards Billington, then turn right onto Mill lane and Bury farm is located on this road on the right hand side just before you enter Slapton.

Directions from Milton Keynes

From Milton Keynes follow the A4146 towards Little Billington. Just before you get to Billington turn right onto Mill lane towards Little Billington and Bury farm is located on this road on the right hand side just before you enter Slapton.

Parking for cars/trailers and horseboxes: Follow the signs to the lorry park. There is lots of space to park and manoeuvre trailers.

CHILTERN VALE FARM, STOKENCHURCH, HP14 3UE

From M40
Come off M40 at junction 5.
Follow signs to Stokenchurch.
You will pass the Shell petrol station on your right
Take the next right hand turn ‘the common’ which is opposite the Kings Hotel.
Follow the road keeping the Fleur de lis pub on your right. At the end of the road the green Chiltern Vale farm gates are in front of you!
Go under the motorway and sharp bend to right, through 2 sets of gates. Gates to be closed at all times.

From the A40 Wycombe
Come up the A40 towards Stokenchurch
Go through the village of Studley Green
You will then come into the village of Stokenchurch
You will see the ‘Kings Hotel’ on your right and you need to turn left opposite the hotel into ‘the common’
Follow the road keeping the Fleur de lis pub on your right. At the end of the road the green Chiltern Vale farm gates are in front of you!
Go under the motorway and sharp bend to right, through 2 sets of gates. Gates to be closed at all times

CLUB FIELD MEADLE, HP17 9UD

Find the A4010 between Butler’s Cross and Princes Risborough.Travel towards Princes Risborough and turn right under the railway bridge onto Grove Lane B4009 (signposted Chinnor).Take the first right turn after approximately ½ mile into Stockwell Lane. The entrance to the field is 300m on the left hand side.

Parking for cars/trailers and horseboxes: Upon entering Club Field there is plenty of parking in the field though the gateway is tight for large lorries.

GRANGELANDS, RIFLE RANGE ROAD, GREAT KIMBLE, AYLESBURY, BUCKS, HP17 0XU

The end of the drive is on the A4010 Risborough Road, and as you turn in take the middle track and drive all the way to the end of the lane and through the wooden gates. Please park by the red horse box.

GREAT HUNDRIDGE MANOR, GREAT MISSENDEN, BUCKINHAMSHIRE HP16 0RN

Great Hundridge Manor is situated on the B485 between Great Missenden and Chesham.

From Chesham – follow signs towards Great Missenden onto the B485.  Great Hundridge Manor is approximately 2 miles along this road on the right hand side.  The entrance is through a wooden gate once you have pulled off the road.

From Great Missenden – follow signs towards Chesham onto the B485.  Great Hundridge Manor is approximately 3 miles along this road on the left hand side.The entrance is through a wooden gate once you have pulled off the road.

KENNEL FARM, LITTLE MISSENDEN, AMERSHAM, HP7 ORJ

Kennel Farm, Little Missenden, Amersham, Bucks, HP7 0RJ. However the turning off the A413 main road is tricky so it is better to follow HP70RF postcode to the Crown Pub as it is 100m from the farm track…

Directions from Great Missenden A413. Take the 3rd turning into Little Missenden, go down the hill, over the bridge and turn left up the farm track (labelled Kennel Farm on the post). Follow the track all the way round and over the bridge and into the farmyard where lorries / trailers can park.
If you get to the Crown Inn Pub then you have gone to far (and missed the turning down the track).

Directions from Amersham A413. Take the 1st turning into Little Missenden, go down the hill, over the bridge and turn left up the farm track (labelled Kennel Farm on the post). Follow the track all the way round and over the bridge and into the farmyard where lorries / trailers can park.
If you get to the Crown Inn Pub then you have gone to far (and missed the turning down the track).

MANOR FARM, KINGSEY, HP17 8LU.

Manor Farm can be found directly off the A4129 road in the village of Kingsey.  The entrance is on the left if you approach from Longwick and the venue has a name sign off the road frontage.  Once off the main road, keep going straight through the industrial estate.  DO NOT TAKE LEFT FORK PAST HOUSE.  Parking is ample once through industrial estate. Please do not tie up and leave ponies outside of vehicles- There is no gate to secure access to main road.
N.B – The yard has stallions, do not approach any of the ponies on the yard. No dogs allowed at this venue.

MANOR FARM, MARSWORTH, TRING HP23 4NA.

Travel on the B489 Lower Icknield Way over the A41 and continue towards Marsworth and Wilstone. Wind past the reservoir, over the roundabout, up the hill and over the canal (traffic lights and speed bumps). At the Village Hall turn left into Vicarage Road. After the church on your LHS, there is a pub on the right and a small bridge over the canal again. Immediately after the bridge, turn right into Ship Lane. Continue down this single-track lane as far as you can and you will enter the yard at the end. Please drive very slowly down this drive as there may be other vehicles and horses.

Parking for cars/trailers and horseboxes: Plenty of parking at the end of the drive with ample turning space.

MEADOWBROOK, MARSH, AYLESBURY, BUCKS. HP17 8SP

Follow Satnav to enter the village of Marsh.  If coming from Kimble you will have turned right at the T Junction opposite the now closed Prince of Wales pub.  We are the second entrance on the right, by a telegraph pole and opposite a house called Elmbrook.  If coming from Bishopstone/Stoke Mandeville, you will enter the village, go over a small bridge and we are the second entrance on the left by telegraph pole.  Please follow directions from rally organiser for parking as it is tight and we occasionally use parking at Elmbrook (opposite).  If this is the case, children must be accompanied to cross the road by an adult.

MIDDLEGROVE FARM. CHESHAM RD, HYDE END, GREAT MISSENDEN, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE. HP16 ORD.

Spring/ Summer Rallies and Competitions

From Chesham
Follow signs out of Chesham towards Great Missenden. Stay on this road and you will pass Jewsons on the right hand side, followed by Middlegrove Farm Entrance, continue 200 yards and on the right hand side are a pair of double gates into the field at Middlegrove Farm.

From Aylesbury
Follow the A413 towards Amersham.  Go across the roundabout signposted right for Great Missenden.  Go left at the roundabout signposted Chesham.  Climb the hill; pass a lay-by on your right.  Shortly afterwards, you pass Hyde Lane and the double gates into Middlegrove are on the left.

Parking for cars/trailers and horseboxes: There is plenty of space to park trailers in field enter after entrance to Middlegrove.

Winter rallies

Follow directions as above except enter farm through main farm entrance.

MILTON KEYNES EVENTING CENTRE. CASTLETHORPE RD, HANSLOPE, MILTON KEYNES. MK19 7HQ.

From the M1 – Junction 14.

Turn right off the M1 towards Newport Pagnell, at first roundabout turn right onto dual carriageway. At top of hill at roundabout take first left towards Newport Pagnell. Follow road to the end. At the end turn right onto B526 towards Northampton. Stay on B526 approx. 2 miles. You will see a long stonewall on your left and a stone cottage. About 200 yards after this, on sharp bend take turning to left signposted to Tathall End and Hanslope. Stay on road approx. 3 miles going back over M1 and through Tathall end (very pretty with a stream flowing through). Eventually will come to a T- junction in Hanslope (Hansloipe Wines is opposite), turn right at mini roundabout turn left. MKEC is about 800 yards on the right hand side – it is the last farm as you are heading out of Hanslope.

From Buckingham.

Take the A422 to Stony Stratford. At the major roundabout with A5 take 2nd exit A508 towards Northampton. Take 2nd turning on right, signposted to Cosgrove, Castlethorpe and Hanslope. Take first left. Go past Navigation Inn, over several narrow bridges and through Castlethorpe. Go over Railway Bridge and at junction turn left. MKEC is the first farm on the left about ½ mile beyond Castlethorpe.

From the M1 – Junction 15.

Take the A508 signposted to Milton Keynes, continue along A508 approx. 15 minutes passing through the village of Roade and Grafton Regis. At the top of a long hill there is a turning on your left to Cosgrove. Castlethorpe and Hanslope. Follow directions as for Bucking above. If you reach the major roundabout with the A5 you have gone too far.

From Bedford via A422.

Take the A422 out of Bedford go past Stagsden, Astwood and Chicheley. At major roundabout just after Chicheley take the 2nd exit to Newport Pagnell. Go down hill and follow road until end. At end turn right onto B526 and follow directions as for From M1 Junction 14.

ViaAA421.

Take the A421 from Bedford and follow signs to M1, junction 13. Either get on M1 at junction 13 (north) and come off at 14 or if M1 is blocked take the road which runs beside the M1 (A421) and follow signs to junction 14. Follow directions as from M1 junction 14 show above.

Parking for cars and trailers and horseboxes: Parking at main centre. Plenty of hard standing. Please park tightly and neatly.

ROSEHILL
 EQUESTRIAN CENTRE. ROSEHILL, HURLEY, HENLEY-ON-THAMES, OXFORDSHIRE. RG9 3EB.

DO NOT USE SAT-NAV!

From the M4, M40 and A4- follow the A404(M) and then the A4130 towards Henley, passing through a village called Hurley. You will shortly pass a pub on your right named The Black Boys.

For schooling, Rosehill is up a single-track road, Rose Lane, on the left after the pub. Rosehill Estate is then the first turn on the right.

For Events and club meetings a one-way system operates. Continue past the pub along the A4130 until a turning on the left is reached signposted to Cockpole Green. Take this turning and then follow the directions as shown on the map.

From Henley follows the A4130 towards Maidenhead. At the top of the hill take the right turn towards Cockpole Green and follow the map.

Parking for cars/trailers and horseboxes: For XC schooling, follow drive round until find hard standing for parking. Overflow parking on grass available. For events, Rosehill operates a one-way system with one gate in and another gate out which will be clearly signed.

WIDMER EQUESTRIAN CENTRE. PINK RD, LACEY GREEN, BUCKINHAMSHIRE. HP27 OPG.

From Princes Risborough head southwest on the A4010 towards High Wycombe. After approximately 1 mile, turn left onto Woodway (if approaching from High Wycombe turn right onto Woodway approximately 1 mile before Princes Risborough.) Continue along Woodway for 1.1 mile and turn left onto Pink road.Widmer Farm is 0.2 miles on the right. Enter using the second entrance (the first goes to the shop).

Parking for cars/ trailers and horseboxes:Upon entering Widmer, continue down Equestrian Drive. Turn right into large hard standing car park. Arena accessed through white security gate- press red button on the left and gate will open.

No dogs other than in the car park please
