Welcome to The Vine Pony Club

news-flash

WELCOME

The Vine Pony Club is part of Area 13 with a reputation for being very welcoming and friendly. Our membership has been steadily increasing over the last few years and we now
have approximately 125 members.

We aim to run various events during the year; the highlight for many children is
Camp in the summer holidays with about over 80 members attending. We have been to Wellington for junior and senior camp for the past couple of years, and to Bucklebury Equestrian for juniors and minis, although mini camp has most recently been at Adbury Park by kind permission of the Skipworth family, and in 2020 at Woodhouse Farm, by kind permission of the Pusinelli family.

As a branch we aim to cater for our competitive members, as well as those who just want to have some fun on their horses and ponies with new and old friends, and we are now running some general rallies for these members. Our quiz team and achievement badge rallies are also great for improving the children’s stable management as well as being a good social gathering for the children.

We have the most brilliant instructors, and the incredible results in the last couple
of years are testament to all the hard work they put in alongside our members.
A number of children qualified at the Area Competitions in 2021 for the JCB Pony Club
Championships, and we have had qualifications for the Regional Championships which have been held at Rectory Farm in August. In September our younger members are fortunate to compete at the Area 13 Mini Championship competition. All of these events really do form great friendships and sportsmanship amongst the children.

We have lots of tetrathlon, and racing participants too, and we are very fortunate to have member’s families involved in the racing world, and the facilities we use are outstanding.

We run several open competitions including a Mini Hunter Trial, and our ever-
popular ODE in September for mini and junior riders at Woodhouse Farm. In 2021 we returned to the super facilities at Sparsholt for our spring show jumping competition, and held our arena eventing competition at the wonderful venue Wellington Riding.

For anyone thinking of joining our Pony Club our Minis are exceptionally well
catered for with an exciting programme of activities. The Juniors have great
training rallies and start to work hard for their different tests the Pony Club have to offer. The Seniors have rallies in each discipline and, if competitive, have super
chances to work towards qualifying for the Pony Club Championships at the end
of August, as well as working hard for B tests and beyond.

As a branch we really
try to cater for everyone, and if your child would like to do something that is not
offered please do let us know. All of our wonderful opportunities for the children are only possible because of our volunteer committee.

We look forward to welcoming you to our branch and do get in touch if you would
like any further information.
