Vine Disciplines

Vine have lots of activities, both mounted and un-mounted, covered most major disciplines of equestrian sports. We encourage all our members to join different rallies of disciplines, experience and enjoy the fun.

Dressage

These rallies are open to all riders who are able to walk, trot and canter off the lead. They are aimed at improving general riding skills, flatwork for jumping, or working towards a dressage test for competition. Rob Trobridge, and Sophie Altmann have been teaching our Vine dressage riders for quite a few years now, are fantastic at keeping the sessions fun, informative, and active. We are fortunate to have professional event riders, past Vine member; Georgia Bartlett, and Will Furlong coaching the children this winter too.

Show Jumping

Show jumping starts with children learning the basics with our instructors at the mini rallies. Once confidently riding off the lead then children can join in our show jumping rallies from x-poles upwards with Michelle Woolmer, Sharon Quant and Sophie Altmann. Once members are comfortably jumping at 70cm they are ready to come to Show Jumping Rallies at April Farm or at Boomerang Stables.  Lots of our members have been show jumping beginners with us and gone on to represent the branch in major competitions, and some internationally.

Mounted Game

We welcome all ages and abilities to Mounted Games.

2022 marked the Vine’s inaugural competitive season. We were able to field a brilliant Junior Team who made it all the way to Champs!

We are all really looking forward to the 2023 season, and hope to send a Senior and Junior team to Areas, and our Novice team(s) to Friendlies.

Training is currently run on a Monday evening at Plantation Farm.

Pony Racing

Pony racing is an amazing opportunity for children to ride on licenced Racecourses across the UK including Ascot and Cheltenham. Much like the activities you see when watching racing on the television, the riders weigh-out, parade in the paddock, head down to the start and weigh-in after the race.

Members wishing to take part must be aged between 9 to 17 years. There are various races on the card, with different conditions, for ponies up to 148cm and aged between 5 and 20 years.
