The Pony Club Training structure encourages Members to take tests which enables them to learn progressively about horse and pony care and riding. The tests are taken at recommended ages and are designed with certain objectives in mind, to help Members become practical and knowledgeable riders, proficient in caring for horses and ponies.Efficiency Tests

E Test (optional)
Recommended minimum age: 4+ years Felt Colour: Pale yellow

D Test
Recommended minimum age: 6 years Felt Colour: Yellow

D+ Test
Recommended minimum age: 8 years Felt Colour: White
D Test must be achieved before taking the D+ Test

C Test
Recommended minimum age: 10 years Felt Colour: Green (full)
D+ Test must be achieved before taking the D+ Test Riding only Silver Grey
Care only – Meadow Green

C+ Test
Recommended minimum age: 10 years Felt Colour: Pink
C Test must be achieved before taking the C Test

A Test Progressive Tests

The Progressive Tests allow Members to work towards Tests in between Efficiency Test levels E and C+. There are four levels of Progressive Tests; Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum.

Achievement Badges

The Pony Club offers Mini Achievement Badges for younger Members as well as both equine and non-equine Achievement Badges. Both types of achievement badge will help you to learn a wide range of skills like first-aid, farming, map reading, saddlery, road safety and grooming.
