The Pony Club Training Pathway or ‘Efficiency Tests’ encourage members to learn progressively as they work their way up the levels from E test to A test. Each test level covers riding and horse and pony care where members develop and expand their skills and knowledge. When you pass a test, you are awarded your felt which is worn under your Pony Club Badge, and a certificate which is given out at our annual Awards Ceremony in January. From C Test level and upwards, the Riding and Horse & Pony Care sections of the tests can be taken separately.
We encourage all our members ton work their way up the Training Pathway and hold test days several times a year. We will only put members forward if we feel they are ready. E to D+ tests are undertaken in house, usually in Spring at Summer Camps and the Autumn. C test and C+ tests are held in house but using external assessors who are unfamiliar to the group. B test and above are organised at Area level.
Safe riding on the road is very important and so the Mini Road Rider badge should be completed before the D Test and the Road Rider Achievement Badge before the C Test.
Aimed at younger members training up to D+ level. They are smaller than the other badges and have a purple border. They are an introduction to the topics covered in the Achievement badges.
Aimed at junior members at D+ to C+ level. They have a navy blue border. When you have collected 21 of these badges you are awarded the Gold Achievement Badge.
For our senior members and cover topics required for C+ to A test. They have a gold border.
