A minimum of three ridden rallies must be completed on the rider/pony combination from September of the previous year. This helps demonstrate that members are active participants within the branch.
We recognise that some members compete more than one pony. Where a member wishes to compete on multiple ponies, the following applies:
- The first pony requires three ridden rallies
- Each additional pony requires two ridden rallies
Examples:
- If a member has two ponies:
- 3 ridden rallies on Pony A
- 2 ridden rallies on Pony B
- If a member has three ponies:
- 3 ridden rallies on Pony A
- 2 ridden rallies on Pony B
- 2 ridden rallies on Pony C
Exception – Mounted Games (Juniors, Seniors and Pairs)
An exception to the above applies for Mounted Games. We understand that not all members ride their Mounted Games pony at regular rallies.
To meet the MERs for Mounted Games, members must:
- Complete three ridden rallies on any other pony, and
- Attend three WHPC Mounted Games training sessions on the Mounted Games rider/pony combination
- Training sessions must be completed during the current season, from 1st January in the competition year.
This ensures members remain active within the branch, while also being appropriately prepared on their Mounted Games pony.
Tetrathlon – Minimus, Junior, Intermediate and Open
In addition to completing three ridden rallies on the rider/pony combination, members must also:
- Attend at least one shooting training session
- The session must be attended by the rider and parent/guardian
- Completed during the current season, from 1st January of the competition year
